I could see that as a potential problem and worry when passengers slide off my seats rather than step out using the running boards. I tell them to mount using the running boards and alight in reverse of the way they entered but still some just turn to face outwards and slide off and down . I am sure that the seats will not take too much of this.

150 D4D gxl auto....purchased Dec 2010....15,000km alreadyy...and ...(touch wood, touch anything) ...no problems at all...no squeak, no rattle, no lag, no hesitation on acceleration....and I still can't believe I almost got a manual (just because I had never had an auto)...and I love the auto.

Now that its "run in" it has plenty of power for me...its not a drag car, it is quite a big 4wd ....but its got plenty of "get up and go" for me...tows the boat, tows the trailer, fits all of the family in...thank you Mr toyota....but my goodness you folk make me very nervous with some of the issues that you have been having, and I feel very sorry for you, because it can be, (and I presume more often than not it is) and very good car. Please keep posting issues and any solutions, as by sharing we can all learn, and hopefully help each other. I am just about to install aux battery setup, and expreiences posted on this forum are invaluable...keep it up Pradopoint, well done

I've just clocked over 40,000kms on mine and have been quite happy with my service centre (even if it is on the other side of town). For the 30k service I went elsewhere as the Brisbane Floods made it difficult to get to my usual one. Went back to the usual as I was not happy with the level of service from the closer centre.

Only had two annoyances, one a rattle in the rear door, fixed on the last service by replacing a couple of clips in the rear wiper housing, and the other is the woeful mudflap design (not fixed to date).

            Hey Dave,

Well off topic, but I notice you are from Cedar Creek...isn't there some good 4wd and camping in that area?
If its where I think it is, its a great part of the world...

              Re: Warranty Issues (150 Series)

              Been very happy with mine.

              Warranty fixes to date:

              1. Small split in the center console lid fabric. Replaced the whole lid no questions asked.

              2. Terrible install of cargo barrier with big holes being cut in the rear trim. Both sides of rear trim replaced.

              3. Poor mudflap design. Replaced mudflaps with new design and offered to fix any damage to bumper.

              4. Rattle under cargo area trim. Fixed myself. Was just the bracket for the cargo barrier under the trim rattling. Dealer emailed me the trim removal diagram (at my request).

Just need to find a warranty fix for the fuel consumption now V6 power is addictive.

Really can't complain. Would be frustrating to have issues as others have had though. So far Toyota have been more than willing to help with anything I'm not happy about.

              Cheers, Sam.

                  Warranty Issues (150 Series)

During the week I travel about 6 km to work and 6 km home. 3 sets of traffic lights on the way and a merge onto a 90km/h highway. Average 17s with that sort of driving. Freeway kms I usually get 12-14. A mixture of both gets 15s.

Bigger tyres will make a difference and perhaps the Rhino Sports cross rails but still a little disappointed with it. Still got greater range than the Pajero but certainly nowhere near the combined 11l/100km they claim.

You might have warranty issues with the fuel consumption, my 2004 120 is a V6 , listing items i have fitted that will/do have an effect on fuel usage are loaded drawers in the back, winch, dual battery, snorkel, 240 lightforce spots, HD roof racks and rhino cage, shovel, tube carrier, awning, suspension lift and 265/70/17 MTZ's. The roof swarf stays there all the time , i get about 14.5's average ... 22-25's with the camper in tow, i dont hang about at lights either. The biggest loss was the tyres at 1.5L/100 , i was getting just under 13's average with AT's fitted.

Ive ordered a 150 diesel with June delivery, im hoping it does better towing.

                        Re: Warranty Issues (150 Series)

                        Hi Brenton,
I'm with you, it's great to hear positive feedback. I had a 2008 120 GXL D4D prior to this 150 GXL D4D. Only about a month and 2,000 km since I picked up the 150. However the past 3 years + 1 month have been the best in my many years of car ownership. I haven't had a problem worth mentioning with either Prado and any little thing must have been fixed by dealer as I have no recollection. The last month has been the best as this vehicle is even more enjoyable to drive that the 120. I stopped viewing PP for a few years as the negativity got me to the point where I was waiting for something to go wrong. However I still believe this site is a great source of information, but just have to recognise that people do have problems with all types of vehicles. Look for the 'good news' feeds until you find a need to look into any problem with yours. If that happens then I'm sure you will appreciate the valuable information and feedback in here. Hopefully you will be one of the many who haven't had a problem, so look forward to the big day.
                        Cheers
                        Chris

I could see that as a potential problem and worry when passengers slide off my seats rather than step out using the running boards. I had a similar issue, but on the piping on the side of drivers squab, initial response was "you have scratched it getting in out" however a quick demonstration showed that was not possible in the position it was. They replaced the squab at the last service. Might be there was a batch, the "leather" cracked and then degraded as it is in area that gets "squashed" as you enter/leave the vehicle. Mentioned it as the first service, then reminded them on the second service, I also reminded them quite firmly when booking in for the 3rd service, and they ordered in the part without argument.

I experienced the 1500 dash rattle, rattle resolved but resonance remains. Yes I know I can use S-mode 4th, but I paid for an automatic transmission.

I experienced the tranny overheat warning, ECU/Tranny flash sorted that.

The other gripe I have is that the rear seats (not the fold down eleccy ones) have started to "rattle" when traveling with no weight on them, at 30K you should not be expecting "fair wear and tear" clauses to be invoked, and if I am right, any resolution will only delay the issue for a similar no of Kms as they replace hinges that will wear at the same rate.

I also experience the "driveshaft clunk", grease resolved it, and request it be done each service, still a workaround, but worse, a legacy issue carried over from the previous model.

Don't get me wrong, I sill very much like the vehicle, but it is the little annoyances that take the shine off the experience.

With the exception of one young bloke who no longer works for Toyota, the service staff have been fantastic.

                          Cheers
