  • Mongoose upgrade alarms

    Guys.

Im and new to this forum and have had a 120 (recently stolen) and just had a 150 delivered...

I have access via my dad who is an auto electrician to the Mongoose upgrade alarms and there is a possibility of doing a group buy if people are interested.

The alarm plugs into the OBD port and comes with a siren and a glass break sensor but can be optioned with others if needed.

    Let me know your thoughts.

    Thanks

    Joel

    Re: Mongoose upgrade alarms

    Hi Joel,

Do you have a standard price and a discounted price for ordering "X" amount of units so we can see the value?

Maybe a link to a site to see the specs etc.
2010 GXL Prado, ARB bar and winch, driving lights, dual wheel rack, roof rack, UHF, sat phone, rear seats removed, custom rear floor and fridge slide, chip, 3inch exhaust, 3inch lift, 200kg rear springs, ome shocks, 285 maxxis Tyres, Dual batteries, Anderson plugs, power in back etc. snorkel, and more. Wish List - nomad transmission lockup, roof mount DVD, long range tank, endless air compressor to fit the 150.

              Re: Mongoose upgrade alarms

I posted this in another thread a while ago but I decided to go with the Mongoose M80G Standard unit, not the upgrade version.
The reasoning behind this was my understanding that some thefts occurred by the original immobiliser being replaced. Breaking into the car is no problem for a thief but apparently they can also switch the ECU very quickly.
I admit this is 'hearsay' but I did not want to take the chance so I have a completely independent installation.
It may be possible to modify the original wiring so replacing the factory fitted immobiliser would not affect the upgrade version but I didn't look into that any deeper.
The disadvantage of course is that I have to carry an extra alarm fob but so far I have not found that a major problem.
