Seats rattle over bumps in VX Model

Baby seat... Now it rattles...

Not to mention cries, poops, screams, laughs, smiles and now talks etc etc.

Would not have it nay other way but, she is an incredible little addition to our family.

Has anyone found a definitive solution/fix for the seat rattle?

I am wondering if seat covers, specifically tighter fitting ones would make a difference.

I have absolutely no rattles in my new Prado so I think the problem that everyone else has been having must have been identified by Toyota and now fixed, Mine is very new. Glad I waited till the teething problems were sorted!!

My april build 500 km old gxl had rear seat rattles about 40 kms from the dealer. I dont think the problem has been identified or fixed!

Mine also April build rattles a far bit on our lovely Queensland roads . Baby seats make no differents with or without baby's.

Mine VX is May built and complience in June. The rattle is still not fixed by Toyota.
Reported to dealer and was told that there isn't any fix! What a feeling!
I found out that the seat rattle in my case is caused by the bounce at the headrest.
I applied a 2 cents worth solution where a little rubber band (shown in photo) is used. It absorts the bounce and fixes 90% of the noise. You can try and appreciate your feedback.

I've had the rattle in the passenger side middle row seat for a while now and it's getting very annoying. I actually had to sit in it during the weekend over some dirt roads and the amount of vibration, even when someone is sitting in it is terrible, to the point where it's almost unbearable to sit in on uneven roads. Like sitting on one of those oscillating machines.

Anyone had any luck with Toyota on this one yet?

What about packing a roll of foam or rubber under the seat so it is pushed hard and cant wobble?

I took my Altitude in for the 6 month service last week and complained about the rattle which started after about 500 km. I had been jamming a pillow case in bteween the seats to stop it which worked, mostly....
Anyway when i took it in it didnt damn well rattle, so they did nothing but listend to what i was saying and said bring it back if it started again. The service manager said he would look into it for me??
Well 2 days later they rang to say that they had been contacted by Toyota to say that 88 people had the same problem and that Toyota were working on a fix. They will let me nkow when they have it and fix mine.

Does this mean toyota are strating to listen at last?? This service centre at least listens and reacts which is all i want, contrary to a few others I believe. Replaced my clunking tail shaft no questions as well.

Most of them listen. Very few act. You may be one of the lucky ones.

I was told by one of the service mechanics yesterday that "Toyota have a fix for this and it should be out in the next month or two. Certainly by the time my next service is due". Maybe they are listening (and reading this forum).

Is the seat rattle in the 2nd row of seats or the 3rd? I am testing a 150 Kakadu at the moment and can't say I noticed it while driving it yesterday.

Hi Fido, its in the 2nd row seats on the passenger side. When you go over vibrations in the road you can see it just about waving in the breeze in the rear view mirror...

hmm, interesting, i've got the same rattle in my Altitude, 2nd row passenger side, i thought it was the baby seat but i might just take that out and go for a drive and see if its still there?
