Thanks, will check that out on the way back to the dealer today, sadly they would only let me play overnight LOL.

I put the second row seats down flat on the weekend to cart some stuff about and never put them back up. It occurred to me on the way home today that I hadn't heard the rattle. That might pose more questions than answers though....

I tried looking for the rattle on the way back to the dealer today but couldn't really spot it. The Kakadu has leather seats so maybe they just fit more snugly. I'll have a proper look and listen when I'm a passenger, I was too scared of pranging it today since I was driving.

I had Toyota have a look at rattle today and apparently the euro models have a dampener in the seats. The oz spec doesn't have the dampeners for some reason. I asked when I can have dampeners fitted because rattle driving me nuts answer Toyota Australia still working it out because it seems to be a big job, upholstery needs to be removed etc he was telling me. Toyota knows how rough our roads are, did they not test vehicles before they release them.

Had the Prado serviced yesterday by City Toyota (Northbridge) and got the seat cushion damper (under warranty) to fix the seat rattle problem from the passenger side 2nd row seat. So far all is good.

I was told that the damper would only be fitted if people complained about it. The part number is 7149960020 if your dealer gives you the runaround.

booked mine in for a service, and have requested the dampener aswell. Keen to see the difference that it makes.

I complained about the seat rattles at the last service and they said they just tightened everything up. Can't say I've noticed the rattles since but I doubt they would have fitted the dampener.

Great to here there is a fix. I have only just taken out the baby seats and hell there is a terrible rattle out back. Never heard it before though. Will get right onto it now. Pity just had its service couple of days ago. Rattles just drive me mental.

Has anyone had any other rattles or other issues with any of their rigs that have some good kms on them? Just wondering how they hold up after a couple of years & many kms. I asked a dealer mechanic for any issues & he said only the weight of the spare on the rear wore the door hinge bushes down creating rattles. I would imagine there would be more niggles that others have found over a period of 3 years or so.

Had the seat dampener fitted last Thursday. Seems to have resolved the issue.

As usual, my local Toyota dealer was excellent in getting this done under warranty.

Had my 150 for 3 years now and apart from the seat issue, not a rattle in it. Done some hard work from time to time as well.

                            Cheers, Sam.
