  • Water dripping on rear right hand side mudflap

    Hi all,

I just noticed some water dripping onto the right hand side rear mudflap of the 150. It appears to be just plain water. I crawled under and saw water coming from some piping system. One explanation would be condensation from the air conditioner, but I am not aware of any aircond equipment around there.

Has anyone seen anything like this before?

Having a 120 series GXL with option pack, I have the rear airconditioner. The same would go for the 150 series, especially the VX. From my understanding on how my vehicle works, I would say it is the condensation from the rear condensor. You should be able to check your manual and turn off the rear air. If you can do this in the 150 series Prado, then you should have no further condensation dripping onto the road when you park the car.

That is it. The compressor is mounted behind the plastic panels in the right hand rear cargo section. You can turn off the rear aircon from the front by pressing the REAR button in the left hand control knob on the dash then pressing off. It can also be shut down from the rear control panel in the back of the centre console.

That is it, thanks guys for the quick replies.
I am on Kangaroo Island in SA, on the remote north-western part of the Island where it would be a pain to break down. Took the Prado to the beach yesterday for some fishing and it performed flawlessly in sand. A friend in a Territory got stuck but we got him out by lowering his tyres to 15psi! I think he is getting a Prado

Walked up to mine in a car park the other day (on a hot humid day) and it was taking a leak just behind the right rear wheel. I would have worried had I not read this posting.

          Thanks guys.
