    Re: New Vehicle Order Tracking

Looks like my 'Late April' delivery date will end up being sometime in May or June.
Ah well, my troubles are small compared to those of the folks in Japan.

      Re: New Vehicle Order Tracking

      From Toyota website:

TMC has decided to continue its domestic vehicle-production halt—at TMC production plants and at subsidiary vehicle manufacturers—until the end of March 22. We have yet to decide when vehicle production will resume.

Separately, in an effort to aid the repair of vehicles already on the market, we are planning to restart production of replacement parts on March 17. And to keep production lines moving overseas, we are planning to restart production of parts for overseas production (including knockdown parts) on March 21.

      Not much to go on.

On a separate note, I sincerly hope that things turn out for the best. Media coverage of the floods in QLD/VIC & the quake in NZ tend to overplay the real situation and dramatise events. That is their nature!

It's worth the wait. I really thought there would be little difference to the 120, but I'm a convert.

A further update from TMC's website:
          Japan Earthquake and Production
          Date:
          Fri, 08/04/2011
As Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) continues to address its production situation in Japan following the March 11 Great East Japan Earthquake, it has decided it will produce vehicles at all its Japanese vehicle-production facilities from April 18 to April 27.

Production volume is planned to be approximately 50 percent of normal. Afterward, all production facilities will enter their annual spring holiday through May 9.

A decision on post-holiday production will be made after assessing the parts supply situation. This development follows production resumed on March 28 at TMC’s Tsutsumi Plant in Aichi Prefecture and at Toyota Motor Kyushu, Inc. in Fukuoka Prefecture, as well as a planned production restart on April 11 at Central Motor Co., Ltd.’s Sagamihara Plant in Kanagawa Prefecture.

Toyota Australia will continue to monitor the supply condition of vehicles, parts and subcomponents sourced from Japan.

            Re: New Vehicle Order Tracking

I am waiting on my Prado. The tracking status has moved from "On order" to "Scheduled for production or in production". However, I received a call from the dealer late last week who advised there was a delay of 3 months. Upon further discussion he revealed they really have no idea on dates or length of delay and are providing worse case scenarios. So I have no idea now

Am hoping mine is lucky enough to be one of the 50% that get through this month.

It's totally out of my control and the dealers so I just have to grin and bare it. But it's killing me!!!!

From the TMC website dated today 15th

Japan Earthquake and Production in Japan

Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) offers its most-sincere sympathies to those affected by the March 11 Great East Japan Earthquake.

As TMC continues to address its production situation in Japan following the disaster, it has decided that vehicle production from May 10 to June 3 will proceed at approximately 50 percent of normal. TMC will decide on production after this period after assessing the situation of its suppliers and other related companies.

Today's decision follows TMC's previously announced decision to produce vehicles at all its Japanese vehicle-production facilities from April 18 to April 27 at approximately 50 percent of normal and for all production facilities to enter their annual spring holiday through May 9.

TMC deeply apologizes to its customers for not being able to build every vehicle to meet their desired specifications due to limited parts.

The latest entry on the TMC website:

                            Regarding Measurement of Radiation Levels
Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC)—for the safety and peace of mind of its
customers and other concerned parties—has started measuring the radiation
levels of its export vehicles, parts for overseas assembly and service parts. As
a result, it has found that such radiation levels are no different than that of the
surrounding air, meaning there is no danger to human health.
These findings are reflected in the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association
(JAMA) announcement today that atmospheric radiation at the production sites
and ports of shipment used by JAMA member companies is not high enough to
impact human health. JAMA also said that radiation around vehicles was at the
same low level, and it said it was confident users of vehicles produced in Japan
could use such products with no concerns regarding radiation.
TMC will continue to work with JAMA to provide customer peace of mind.

Looks like you are gleaning every bit of information in the hope that your vehicle is one of the 50% in production. Just like me

With no disrespect, I take the announcements with a grain of salt. After all, didn't the government announce the radiation levels were fine?

                              Frustrated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                                http://www.heraldsun.com.au/business/to ... 6043425696

TOYOTA expects global production to ramp up again by mid-year and return to normal by the end of 2011 after Japan's quake-tsunami disaster caused auto parts shortages.

Many key component manufacturers in Japan are based in the worst-hit northeastern regions, where facilities were damaged by the 9.0-magnitude earthquake on March 11 or inundated by the giant wave that followed.

Toyota has announced production disruptions domestically and in the United States, European Union, China and Australia because of the crisis, temporarily shutting some plants or running them at half-capacity or less.

The auto maker said in a statement that "global production will begin to ramp up as soon as July in Japan and August in North America, with all models back to normal production by November or December 2011".

"To all the customers who made the decision to buy a vehicle made by us, I sincerely apologise for the enormous delay in delivery," said Toyota president Akio Toyoda at a press conference in Japan.
