Hi guys. This is my first post so I might need some help/tips.
I just bought one of the new VMS Touring 600 GPS. It worked fine for a little while but seems to have died. I have tried recharging the unit. A green button comes on next to the power cable but when I try to power up the unit it won't turn on and the green light changes to red. If I don't have the unit plugged in, then the light goes off altogether. I have tried pressing the reset button but that hasn't worked.
I wonder if it is the battery, but don't know if I can get a new battery, and anyway I am a bit suss about a battery burning out completely after such a short time. Also there is the issue of dismantling the unit and perhaps voiding the warranty.
This just happened in the middle of Easter a few days ago. Of course everything is closed at the moment. I am in Adelaide and was hoping to hit the road first thing on Tuesday but it's starting to look like I might need to hang around a bit longer to have a chat with the VMS guys in Melbourne before I go.
Anyone else have a similar problem or have any suggestions for me?
Cheers and thanks.
Doug
