  • What did you do with your old Bumper?

I'm planning to replace my original bumper with something more suitable and beefier. However, what to do with the old bumper?
    What have you done:
    1) Keep for future use when putting the off-road bumper onto a new rig?
    2) Will places like ARB dispose of the bumper (at a cost, which would be fair, but how much?)
    3) Donate to a body shop
    4) Sell on eBay & hope to sell locally (for collection rather than sending off via courier!) to offset the cost of the new bumper....?
Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts and experiences!

I had ARB fit my new bar. They took off the old bar and would dispose of that at no additional cost. My wife stupidly wanted to keep the old bar so I took it home (happy wife happy life). Ended up taking the fog lights out and putting the bar at as hard refuse which we get in our council once a year. Good luck with selling them on ebay but if I was in the market I would be looking to ARB or similar to see if they have one or to hold the next one. They would probably give them away.

Well to fit an arb bar on a 150 they cut up your bumper for fill panels around the top so it's a bit useless afterwards.

Have seen the boys from the aftermarket shops dumping ute loads and trailer loads of original bars at the tip.
See lots for sale on eBay attracting no bids.
Also see a lot of the fog lights not attracting bids.
Kept but later sold my nearly new (400km) original springs and shocks on eBay for $150. Fot the set of 4!!

Would you know where I can find these ARB fitting instructions for a 120?
Ive tried and keep getting "forbidden, cannot access"

As far as the old bar goes, I kept it, you never know
I cant bear the thought of chucking it out

            Cheers

Go to the main ARB page (www.arb.com.au) and select your vehicle type. then select Bull bar followed by the product you want e.g. Sahara bar. from this page there is a direct link to the PDF. ( if you have troubles, PM me & I can email it to you...)

                  Sold mine on PradoPoint!

People do want them from time to time, just don't be greedy on the asking price.

Not wanting to perpetuate the pun, I'll say that is darned clever. Great thinking

I wish I had my original bar, whoever fitted the TJM T13 bullbar didn't bother to paint the plastic infills and they look rather ordinary.

Well yes but there is an art to painting them due to the type of plastic used; a painted bumper cut infill looks much better.

There is a headlight washer kit for the plastic infills. mine have them.

Didn't think to ask TJM when I was there today. In any case I believe you need to use a GX or GXL bumper as the factory bumper has the headlight washers in a part of the bumper that gets cut off.
