exactly mate! you can then turn off TC by holding the button a couple of seconds.

Soft Sand + Snow - Traction Control Off.
Went to MT Skene this weekend and got bogged about 500mts from the summit(and got snatched too) (with 18psi , low range 2nd gear). After i turned TC off .... there was no stopping, all the way to the top of the summit in the deep snow/ice

In my GX the TC and VSC are not affected by locking the centre dif - they both remain on. When you engage low range the VSC is turned off.

You can turn TC off by pressing the switch once and turn VSC off by pressing and holding the switch for a few second.

Well, another 110kms today on some very soft sand. Let the new Coopers down to 22psi, turned the VSC and TC off and the 150 ate the sand up all day long !! Very impressed and with more poke under the hood with the new D4D than my old 120 series, the dunes were conquered with ease. DEFINATELY TC OFF for the sand driving.

Will still get a rear diff locker for the rocky stuff but !

My Kakadu has the factory rear diff lock and so far its never been needed the TC works a treat.. I spent all day sunday in SOFT sand at Lancelin and had no problems at all. I believe with the multi terrain select in the Kakadu once you select Sand-Mud mode it turns off the VSC ? You only have to look at the new Jeep Grand LTD it has the air lift which ends up giving you next to no wheel travel at full lift but uses good traction control systems to get you through...at the end of the day you will always have at least two wheels on the ground if their getting power you should have drive.

The traction control on the 150 is just amazing. I too was going to fit lockers to make up for the lack of wheel articulation (compared with a live axel Cruiser) but the TC keeps the Prado moving forward. I was recently with five other vehicles on a back country snow trip and no-one could believe their eyes when consistantly after the vehicles in front of the Prado had been helped up the slopes the 150 went up with no fuss and no noise. Having an auto in first gear lockout helps, as you get going without breaking traction, the TC was working all the wheels constantly in turn, making a racket inside the vehicle, apparently you cannot hear that on the outside. I have noticed that the TC only works when you have forward motion, when stationary it will make no attempt to stop the spinning wheels. This might still require lockers as the 150 can get much further into the 'shit' than any 4wd I have had or been in, but when stopped, you are on your own. That said it has not stopped yet and when it does, I have the winch.

                  good to hear barajak !
I'm holding off on the lockers at the moment and decided to put the extra $$ into a Warn Xd9000 and some bash plates instead. Get the winch and the ARB deluxe bar fitted in the next 2 weeks, can't wait. Happy with the TC at the moment.
