I haven't signed anything yet Brains, but an FJ is still on the cards, there's been a few mods on this forum that's made me think about the FJ again, like bash plates and your transfer case guard that would make a nice addition should I purchase.
A set of Drifta drawers would also sit nicely in the back. Just might have to flick the 60Ltr Waeco for a new 50Ltr instead to allow a fridge to fit though. There's plenty of drawer pics for the FJ fit out on Drifta's website.
I'm sure a kitted out FJ on the trails with the SEQ'ld Crew would stir the lads up a bit. hehe

Luv the new drawers Matt, and am keen to see a demo in the near future.

    cheers
    Stewy

Quick update. I've loaded the drawers and interestingly, they slide very easy with all the weight of my recovery gear in them.

Stewy, this is Luke's FJ. He sells heaps of drawers for the FJ so you'll be in good hands. Oh, and when you do the road trip, I'll tag along. Gotta still try the food at MoOnan Flat .

Got the Drifta drawers fitted two weeks ago and I have to say I am very impressed with the quality and fit of the system.
A false floor was made to go in first. The drawers are 340high to allow for their SD-DCB Single Drawer Kitchen to swap over with the drawer when I go away. I got a removable table as well. I have done alot of km's since fitting and there has been no rattling or unusual movement. I also got Mark to custom up some floor panels which quickly connect to the back of the drawers and fit nice over the middle row of seats. They have a nice simple but sturdy set of fold down legs. Fits snug and removes in a few seconds. One floor panel can be removed and you can still use the seat behind the front passenger. I have being carrying plenty of heavy cable rolls and have had a problem with movement. The drawer system uses Teflon runners this brings the weight of the drawers down to about 27kg's.... and also allows for a wider drawer....no arguments from me! Removing the drawer and replacing with the Single Drawer Kitchen only takes a minute as well. Now just need to buy the drop down fridge slide.....

First Pic with Single Draw Kitchen

Removable Floor Panels to sit over middle row of seats

Both Drawers in with Kitchen on top

One panel removed to allow the middle seat behind the passenger to be up

Happy to post a few more pics if anyone wants.

Thanks D4D, I think it makes for a very useful fitout for both work and play.... between that and the slide out table there is plenty of room for food prep etc..

Wow slatts. You've given your setup a great deal of thought and the result is excellent. I love the flexibility and seeing what you've arranged by extending the false floor over the rear seats has me thinking...

                Nice job!

Yeam mate they came up a treat.. and yes I had taken a long time in working out what would suite for both work and weekends... The same goes for my racks that I recently put on as well.... didnt want steel so got the custom made allow racks and poleless awning --- in another post. But between them all Im starting to get a really nice and usuable set up....

Beechy has the template now for the floor extension so it would be easy for you to fit them. At the back of the drawers there is a Teflon strip with a couple of small notches to allow the bracket to slip into. Wouldnt be hard to do. It would also depend on what height you got yor drawers done to allow the floor to sit over the top of the middle row.

Now try telling the missus whats next on the list lol...... duel batteries.... suspension.... dropdown slide.... mod chip the list keeps going.

Off for a wee drive tomorrow so I finally finished fitted my Drifta draws (well 90% finished them) so that I can use my fridge slide and have my recovery gear on board. Mine are slightly different to Matts and Slatts above as they sit on top of the original seats. I had a set of outbacks in and I wanted the use of the 7 seats back since having our daughter. These will take 5 minutes to get in and out. Overall very impressed.

The draws with my Weaco CF50 mounted to the ARB fridge slide using the ARB tie downs.

I bought 4 of the BMW tie downs for the VX and used a turn buckle to lock the draws in place. Nice and easy to remove and I have the 7 seats in 5 minutes.

The ARB Fridge Slide and Mounting straps, great bit of gear! The straps are very well thought out.

The fridge fits in with plenty of room and when the draw is fully out the lid opens without issue.

I just have to finish the wing kits now, this should be an hour task next weekend and I have some great ideas in mind to make it suit our usage very well. I had these up for sale a few weeks back now and glad that I did not sell.

                          Cheers Dan

                            Hi Rogerthatv2

I understand this post is from 2012, but I have bought myself a 2010 Prado 150 GXL with the 3rd row of seats. You have a good idea with the turn buckle to secure (and then able to remove) your drawers. The tie downs on the cargo bay are okay to hold the weight, but my tie downs on the 3rd row seats back are not. I find my drop slide lifts the rear of the false floor. How did you do secure the back turn buckles.
                            Regards SAFTGT
