My son built his own 3D printer and has written his own software to run it. In the end he ran out of things to print.Greg - 08 D4D Prado,

Very cool! Have been toying with the idea of buying a 3D printer for a while now, would be perfect for making small brackets to hold cables, wiring, etc either inside the vehicle or in the engine bay.
FYI - A number of premium CAD software providers offer their products for free on a trial basis for several years. Just search "free CAD software".[B]2010 GXL Prado D4D Auto[/B] - ARB Deluxe winch bar, Roadsafe recovery points, Rhinorack Pioneer platform, AMTS fuel filter/compressor combo bracket with FM100 filter and ARB compressor, Maxtrax, TIN175 transmission oil cooler bracket and tranny cooler. I got my son an RC remote control car for Christmas. Its a FJ Cruiser. They didn't have any Prados.
He wanted some recovery gear to help him get un-bogged.

Yes but it will have a space frame inside to support the roof as it is printed. Cut the excess off/out when you are done. Did you get the stainless steel version 3D printed?
There are a number of web sites that will let you upload a file and then they'll send you the output. The list of materials they can print with these days is pretty impressive.
