Made some changes to the original design and fitted them up today. Fit beautifully and am happy to start looking at the 120 design.
I have decided to make the plates out of 3mm 350 grade steel. Normally plate is 250 grade, so I get 40% more strength without adding more weight. They will be zinc primed and powder coated. All bolts that could get ground off are tucked away and protected. I've purposely put in folds and edge flanges to increase stiffness without adding weight.
Front and sump guard is 15kg
Transmission guard is 7kg
Transfer guard is 10kg
Currently only checked fitment on a GXL. The Kakadu will need to be different to accommodate the KDSS. GX should be same as GXL. Transfer guard will only fit the Diesel.
Some pictures with all guards fitted. I will take them off and get them powder coated next week. I made 2 sets so I'll have a spare set if someone wants to put their hand up for the first one. Preferably someone in Brisbane so I can check fitment on a 2nd car.
