3rd Row Seat and False Floor

Just enquiring from people who have removed the 3rd row seats and fitted a false floor, did you notice any increase in road noise with seats gone.

If you didn't did you use some sort of sound deadening under the floor.

I did this last week. I had heard before of increased noise so i went to Clarke rubber and purchases some sound deadening material and packed the area under the floor with it. I used contact adhesive to stick it to the actual false floor so it stays in place but comes out with the floor if i remove that.
Cant hear a thing over wind noise from the Rhino rack and awning.

I removed the third-row seats to eliminate a rattle in the back, there is increased road noise with them out but after placing a false floor lined with carpet, it is back to normal. the extra room is well worth ripping out those useless seats that you would only use once in every 100 years. lol

I made mine from 17 mm ply. Nice and solid, i was crawling around in the boot afterwards doing some wiring and it didnt move at all

I wrote about my false floor in my build which you can get to via my signature. No soundproofing under the floor and no noticeable change in noise. Floor is carpeted.

The only real difference I have noticed is that I can hear fuel sloshing about the tank not long after the needle leaves the full mark.

I used 16mm MDF and carpet sections from Bunnings. stapled the carpet on the underside and it nearly looks factory fit.
