Don't know how often I'd use a hi-lift jack but I had a request and looking at what is currently available I thought I could come up with something a bit better.
I didn't want to hang the heavy jack off the side of the rack like most mounts do. I also wanted to keep everything as low as possible. Also, clamping the shovel to the mount using a bolt is pretty agricultural and damages the handle. I wanted to use Quick fists.
The weight of the jack is directly over the mounting slots so there is no bouncing and twisting of the roof rack. Shovel fits nicely to the side and does not protrude any higher than the jack.
Feels really solid, especially when the mounts are lined up over the roof rack cross members.
