Last Xmas my wife thought it would be good to the boys a 3d printer for Xmas, and as I was working at ALDI at the time I was able to put one aside. Now its 6 month down the track and the young ones interests have changed and we've had the use it or lose it talk. After some playing around printing Ipad stands and some other small things from free plans I found on the internet I thought I would try and make something from scratch. I had been thinking about how to install a switches and rear power outlets in the Prado for a fridge and other accessories for a while and decided to 3d print a panel. I used 3mm mdf for the prototype as didn't want to cut a hole in the panel cover and stuffing it up. I also wanted it to be removable. The switches are from Jaycar and sockets were from the local Autobarn, and the 4th switch is for the 12volt outlet on the roof-rail to run a flashing light or work light. I intend to paint the panel and mdf but wanted to get everything working first.
