I Pad Mounting in 150 Series

I am not sure if anyone has looked at how well Apple I Pad sits on the dash of 150 Series but i have just made some mounts in front of middle Vents.. works perfect for using maps and plugged into AUX and run through Speakers.

I'd be keen to know if anyone has mounted one to the roof for the kids in the back to watch, I tried the bluetooth sound streaming and this works fine, just need a way to mount it. Would save having to by a DVD/Screen or headrests

We supplied one of these the other day to a guy the other day, worked very nice in his helicopter he said.

Volvo offer them as an option for the xc90' they are nothing like an LCD so better to hang off back of seats, and when kids are done done you can put it away out of harms way.

Ok.. Finally got around taking pics of I Pad and getting some image's..

It works a Treat.. forget expenive Mounts...

2 X Ambi Pure Air Fresheners - They Come apart, use only the but that is flat and sticks in the Vent.
1 X Sticky Backed Velcro - Stick Half to Air Fresh and Sew other part to rubber I pad case.
1 X Rubber I pad Case (Not Needed, but sits better)
1 X Male to Male Cabe (earphone Jack)

Total with out case - $30
with Rubber Case $80

Works a Treat.. I have been 4WD with it and wont move..

Looks great!

You know you can use Bluetooth to stream the audio so you don't need the cable, one less thing to buy

I just need to find a way to have mine come down from the roof so all three kids in the back can see it, I was thinking one of the roof consoles that come back a fair way might do the trick, just need to find someone who does one for the 150.

That could work a treat for my subs!!! I have a Kenwood stereo that while I have used it for iPod and iPhone integration, have not done it for iPad yet...... will try.

Who else here uses Motion X HD? The latest upgrade enables you to email from the iPad tracks you have saved - a GREAT mapping tool for around $1.99.

I have used the bluetooth to stream out from the iPad through to the stereo and it worked fine, just paired etc like the iPhone does and then select the Car Stereo Bluetooth device on the iPad as an audio output device and came through nice and clear.

I haven't used Motion X HD as my iPad is wifi only, but I do use it on the iPhone and it works great

Bluetooth from my iPhone is the only way I listen to music in the Prado when not using the radio. One of my favourite things about the Prado! Great sound quality and songs can be controlled (forwards and backwards) through the steering wheel controls.

Re the iPad mount, this DIY options looks good but blocking the main air conditioning vents may be an issue on a really hot/cold day.
