  • Side rock sliders to replace door steps on 150

    Hi Everyone,

Yes, I did bend my side step :P I reckon there is no need to fix it, it is better to replace by some aftermarkets prepared for solid rocks. Sadly, when I went to ARB I've been told that ARB won't have any till April 2011 at least. They are in process to get certified on this model.
Any thoughts who may have them already avaliable?

Re: Side rock sliders to replace door steps on 150

Oz Autoquip in Queensland are making sidesteps in both steel and alloy.
The steel ones are all black.
I was quoted $770.00 plus $100 freight to Sydney.
I have also contacted Darren at Autocraft and he has said he will get back to me in a few weeks.
Also update your location in your profile so people can see where you are and suggest a supplier that may be local to you.
    Cheers,
2014 Black GXL D4D Auto with a few add ons.

I see in your signature you have a GXL. So this would have side air bags. Wouldn't the rock sliders affect airbag triggering :?:

I think that's why the first mob won't have them out for a long time due to them getting tested and certified.

This is what they are testing in ARB - to get it certified as airbag friendly :P

Strong/proper rock sliders to replace door steps on Prado 150 VX 2014

Could anyone recommend good rock sliders to replace door steps on Prado 150 VX 2014?

Heard that ARB ones do not qualify as rock sliders just as steps??? Is this correct?

I have powerful 4x4 ones on mine, cheap, solid and easy to fit. They hug the body closer than the standard steps, so also gain a little bit of clearance there too. I'm very happy with them regardless of the price, the fact they are cheap is a bonus.

                  Hi,
Would also like to replace 2014 VX sidesteps with rock sliders, preferably black steel. I like the sound of getting a bit more clearance, too! Two issues as I see it (probably more that I haven't considered too)... reinstalling/mounting existing under-step lighting, and compatibility with side airbags triggering.
Any simple solutions out there that are approved/certified?
