He tells me he has the program sorted to bring on the increase in torque and boost down as low as 1300 rpm. Apparently no real issues setting it up to run with cruise.

      Couple of questions.
Whats the price of the steinbauer for a Prado 120?
How much would fitting be on average?
If it doesn't work with cruise, that would rule it out for me.
      Cheers

$1550, what a steal! Did it include a dyno tune? I got quoted what seems to be the going price in Vic.$1690 for chip, installation and dyno.

Here's a question for ya... is it worth 1.5K? If you were given the opportunity to do it again what would you do?

          Cheers

Excellent! Can't wait to get mine done. Thanks for the feedback mate.

Can you confirm that the reference wire is white and blue with silver strips?

Thanks in advance. Just don't want them stripping too many wires when looking for the reference wire. If that's how they do it ofcourse...

I had the SB on the 120 and loved it. Can't wait to fit one to the 150 next week once the 1000km service gets done. Worth every cent and liked the fact that I could revert back to standard tune while on cruise. Just my 2 cents...

Unless people have both you are going to be pressed to get a non-bias answer. You to consider the following:

                          1. Cost
                          2. Warranty - In relation to the Chip, does it cover the engine as well?
                          3. After sales support / Tech support.
                          4. In relation to the Chip, can you custom tune it yourself?
                          5. In relation to the exhaust, do you live next to the ocean or do a lot of beach driving involving salt water? If so then stainless would be better otherwise steel would be fine unless you are keeping your vehicle longer than 10 years.
                          6. Exhaust size, people say for a diesel, the bigger the better. In this case 3in is as big as you can go.
                          7. For the exhaust, can you fit it yourself etc.

I have a ChipIt chip and a Manta 3in exhaust. If you look at my build thread I have done videos on install. In Jan I wish to look at doing video reviews of all products I have got for my vehicle over the last three years.

The only trouble I have with the ChipIt chip is that the engine won't start all the time. I have to pause when the ignition lights are on and the fuel gauge goes up and then start. I have not addressed this with ChipIt as yet. I did get the odd error code but haven't for about 8 weeks.

I have had no issues in relation to the exhaust.

                          Have a good Christmas,

                          Winston.

MNK - Get both chips plus the 3" exhaust! It's only money.
I have........SB, zero problem, Chipit on 3 or 4 occasions has not started first crank.
That is over many months, many starts.
Running original tune on both. Would like a dyne test, but none anywhere around here.

Winston this has been fixed. Latest revision was last week. Voltage pull down on the prado was Toyota supplying JUST enough current and voltage for starting. When battery is a little tired and other accessories are on even glow plugs, Factory EUC would struggle when an extra demand for volage was made at the rail. Under 4.8 volts and she no start mate. If someone had a good cranking battery or second battery helping the first it was not an issue.. Now we source both 5volts and 12volts to overcome this.

Send it back to me and I'll return all fixed. This goes for anyone that has start issue with our Chip. The SB Chip we do does not have this issue BTW ... never did. But this has been fixed either way.
