    kakadaz (oops),
Would appreciate you having a geek at the truck. I'll PM you. I'm really trying to determine what has been done to the rear to see if it can be lowered as insurance things are an issue as well

Lovells have released a new strut for the 150 series Prado, which also includes spacers and instructions for KDSS equipped Prados to use one 20mm spacer on the drivers side only and no spacer on the passenger side. See pages 195 and 196 of their latest catalogue: http://www.lovellsauto.com.au/docs/cat_4x4suspkits11.pdf
Lovells Prado 150 front strut part number: 64610087F
Lovells Prado 150 rear shock part number: 64612489

There are a few manufacturers that have front struts with adjustable spring seats and can therefore be used on KDSS equipped Prados to correct the lean.

        Circlip adjustable spring seat:
        Bilstein
        RidePro

        Collar spacer adjustable spring seat:
        Lovells
        The Ultimate Suspension
        Ironman

Coil-over type screw adjustable spring seat:
        Icon
        Off Road Boss
        Superior SRC

        Trim packer:
        ARB OME

Several dealers also will do suspension lifts for KDSS vehicles, which include ARB, The Ultimate Suspension, Cal Off Road and Mannell Motors. Unfortunately, quite a few still can't their heads around airbag suspension so If you own a Kakadu (or a Grande), many ARB dealers won't do them, with the exception of Mannell Motors which also own ARB Penrith. The Ultimate Suspension and Cal Off Road also modify the Kakadu.

Kakadu owners will also have no joy seeking advice from strut manufacturers because they "haven't tested products with airbag suspension and can't recommend rear shocks for them". Fortunately the rear suspension on the Kakadu is an easy mod and shocks work just as well with airbag springs as they do with steel springs. Just don't tell your supplier you intend on fitting them with airbag springs and you'll save yourself the disclaimer, or a refusal to supply the product.

          hi, just a quick question

how did you increase the height of the rear air bags to match the front?\

          Cheers!

Thanks Kakadaz. I went with the ARB route, 887 spring, trim packer and nitrocharger struts 90010 and find the ride way too rough for city drive. I have not adjust the rear airbag to match the front as yet. Should have found your mod faster.

Two quick questions, how do you like the Bilstein over the normal shocks? and
What the the thickness of the washer to trick the rear airbags?

                  Thanks!

Today I took the plunge and use the washer methods to increase the rear airbags. I am glad I did. I use 10mm washers on both side of the rear suspension sensor plate that was connected to the chassis. And now the car is level.

The ride back from the mechanics was night and days. Apparently the rear of my prado was bottoming out, evident by looking
at the mark left by the rubber cushion hitting the rear axle.

Part of the reasons for bottoming out was the increase height of the front suspensions and misadjusting the rear airbags
                    sensors.

I no longer have problems with OME shocks or springs. The ride comfort was more than acceptable.

                    Cheers.

I have made a few sets of strut spacers for PP members, intially with the intentiopn of providing a simple cheap way to gain a few extra MM's of lift without sacrificing wheel travel, or to compensate for sagged springs.

It has been suggested to me that fitting one of these spacers may be a good option to solve the KDSS lean issue, it should give 12mm extra lift.

Have a look here http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...-Strut-spacers for more details.

                      Cheers Andrew

                        Hi Guys,

I have the KDSS lean with a 2" lift and looking at taking the car in to get the spring seat on the strut adjusted to the top setting.
but after crawling around under the car I have noticed that on the R/H side at the back end there is an adjustable lever that must read the position/height of the R/H side rear and maybe compares it to the L/H side to activate or adjust the KDSS. Im just guessing here, but can anyone tell me if they have the same on there VX or Kaka ? and if so anyone has attempted to adjust it or even confirm what it does exactly and if adjusting it would help at all.

                        thanks, Matt

There is one for each side. I've found that adjusting the rear such that one is high and one is low makes no difference. Adjusting the front strut however will have an effect for both front and rear.

Yeah I just played around and found the same thing( no difference ). I will take the car in next week and get the front strut spring seat moved up

Did you ask the supplier whether they did supply unequal length springs?

Yeah I checked with them and they were pretty un-helpful but did confirm that they were the springs for KDSS with the R/H front spring longer, I also double checked with King spring as well as checked myself as the springs are labelled L/H & R/H.
I will email King Spring tomorrow and give them the measurements and see what they have to say. 20mm lean sounds like a lot for these type of springs
