I had both Bilsteins and Koni`s, the Bilsteins were still good at 110000Km , the Koni`s needed a rebuild after around 80000km. Having said that the Koni`s were a bit more compliant, the top of the range koni stuff maybe be longer lasting.

I have heard a few report now about inconsistency in the king springs, ie different batches slightly different spring rates. Have had them before and got no complains, but I am going to go for dobinson and Bilsteins soon.
stepped up the a 200 LC for towing,
but had a 2012 and 2010 150 Prado GXL auto diesel in Graphite with Bridgestone D697 A/T. Dobinson C59-300/325 and Bilsteins. Accessories : two baby seats. Sidewinder`s Dual Battery isolator and rear power outlet kit. Pirana Battery tray, Hayman Reese towbar with Toyota wiring kit and Brains`s guard.

I have a 150GXL manual and looking at a suspension upgrade, in the past I have gone with Konis, been happy with them but I hear the Bilstiens offer the best on-road ride. I saw your past last year:

Was wondering if you ever got this installed and are you happy with the setup, off-road / onroad ?

      Regards
      rptdprado,

Yes indeed I had them fitted beginning of the year. My experience with these so far have been excellent on road and can honestly say the ride has improved over factory.

As for off road I have had the vehicle in a number of situations from easy to somewhat difficult and certainly from my perspective the suspension has worked well every time.

I have had the back wheel of the ground a few times and would love to have more down travel but then again so we all would. King springs have a life time warranty. If they break or sag by a certain amount (cant remember but not much) they will replace them. The Bilstiens really perform well and at no point on or off the road have I felt uncomfortable or loss of control.

As I have about a hundred KG's over the front being steel bull bar, winch, dual battery and some day driving lights, I didn't wish to compromise on the ride so I stayed with the lower rated spring but fitted the 'H' front. This spring is longer and this compensates for the extra weight but maintaining the ride.

I drive it daily and regularly go off road as I am again next weekend. Very happy with the set-up.

Here it is (parked on a slight incline).

Another friend (and PP member) has done the same with his newly purchased 150. We have been out on a number of tracks since and he is very happy with the result.

What ever you choose get out on the tracks and have fun

Great responses Majj and Hazza. I did briefly
consider the big Koni RAID's but would be
        overkill for me.

        looks like Kings and Bilstiens

When you have them fitted post a report I'm sure it will be positive.
