      Hey everyone,

      This is an old thread, but an interesting topic.

      I suspect on the basis of OEM strut lengths, the FJ struts are actually quite different to 150 struts.

      In this thread (post #4, first line);

      http://www.fjcc.com.au/f4/where-you-...-travels-1321/

      ....the front OEM extended length is quoted as 520mm, which is considerably shorter than the OEM extended length of 555mm for the 150.

      I'm not sure this figure is true, however, if it is, this must mean the strut tower on the FJ chassis rail sits much lower relative to the lower control arm to give a lower open length.

      The only way to know is if we measure the lower control arm mounting point to the top of the strut tower for the FJ and the 150.

      Does anyone by chance have OEM closed-open lengths for the Australian spec FJ? This question was asked in the first post in this thread, but wasn't answered.

      From my perusal of various forums, I'm led to believe the RHD Australian spec FJ was developed in 2010 (sold in 2011 onward), and utilised a shortened (by 100mm) 150 series chassis, that includes the extra front cross members. The LHD American spec 2006-2010 FJ is based on a shortened 120 chassis.

      Even more critical is knowledge of the FJ OEM closed length relative to the 150, so that bump travel safety margins are known.

        Hey all,

        Quick update for anyone interested, I've posted the FJ struts/shocks closed-open lengths in the 120 series suspension database thread;

        http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...atabase/page11

        The struts are actually a hybrid of 120/150 lengths, very interesting!
