    Dan,

How have you found the valving? I see that you have the 5160 fronts however Sonny suggested that the 5100 will be a bit soft for the Prado. I was wondering if the 5160 are a bit sort too?

Have you posted the Bilstein part numbers that you were supplied?

I am considering placing an order for a set of 5100's to put in a 150 prado. Can someone who has fitted 5100's confirm 33-187174 (rear) and 24-186711 (front) are the correct part numbers to fit with raised coils (probably kings) to a 150?

Also, from what I have read, the bilsteins brought in australia are "valved specifically for Australia", what sort of difference would that make when compared to the 5100's?

Just under $600 shipped (trucksprings) for 4 shocks and a set of firestone air bags seems like a deal too good to pass up!

So far so good but i hav'nt really put them to a real test yet as i work away and only get limited time at home.....compared to the stock shocks though they have improved the ride quality significantly with much better dampening......i'll dig up the part numbers in a few days when i get home.

Guys any update on how these 5160's are performing? Do you think there is any benefit going to these from the BE5's?

Very happy with mine so far,i've done roughly 2000k with them and have to say they are a marked improvement over the stocky's for sure.I could'nt tell you if they are better of worse than the Be5 series as i didn't try them in the Prado..........
Basicly a got a set of 4 Bilsteins (ordered as FJ) and a set of dobinsons and new top bushes for around a $1000 and fitted them my self which is fairly strait foward.

i'm looking at getting another set for our Hilux in the not too distant future from the same supplier (Downsouth motorsport on E-bay) the delivery time was exceptional.....6 days to Darwin.

I set the circlip on the lowest setting and it's fine for my vehicle......

I'm looking at these as well...
                    Any further updates?
Do they get hot on long corrogated gravel drives?
I travel for 6-7 hours on some isolated roads every month, do you think they will hold up to the test??

Great post so far guys, very helpful

Would anyone be able to recommend where to purchase 2" lift coils to suit the bilstein 5100 shocks? I can't seem to find them at the stores you have mentioned.

Also what brand coils are required for both front and rear of a 120 series?

The 5160 should hold up well as that is what a remote reservoir is for - to increase the oil capacity for better heat dissipation.

                        Try this http://lmgtfy.com/?q=perth+suspensio...pradopoint.com

You can also select your coils from the Suspension database

King springs are popular. I have Dobinson C59-302 for the front and it is soft which is a good ride off road. Leans a bit going round the roundabout but I'm happy with the compromise.

                          Guys,

I havent seen Daz from Autocraft in Geelong chime in here yet, but It would definatly be worth getting his input into the different valving between the AUS spec Bilstein and the US spec. I know they have done a lot of work in that field.

Also would be worth going to the effort of at least getting quotes off him. The guys down there have done wonders for Australian FJ's, Prados, and cruisers.

Darren from Autocraft was banned from this forum a few years ago, so you won't get anything from him on PP.

No doubt if you contact him direct he will help you out.
