  • Ultimate suspension kit

Hi all after fitting their system to my prado and after about 4months driving the front end I reckond had returned to the original height which made the steering and handling shocking oh I forgot to tell you about the fitment when fitting the front struts they would have done so on a hoist they then tightened the bottom nuts with no load on the front end so after about 5000ks it then chopped out the bottom bushes you say just take it back have them replaced what a drama get the misses to follow me their leave it overnight then return to pick it up let's face it these guys do this all day every day and how could they fix the sagging front end replace with the same springs which I have found out are known for this to happen in the end I contact cal offload who sold me a three inch kit which I had fitted at wholesale suspension penrith I have done about 15000ks with no sign of sagging and no abnormal wear on my tyres extras on my car are (winch, dual batt, under body plate,Steel bar and 275x75x17 maxis bighorn mud tyres the car is driven everyday to the city from penrith

Hey mate, Where did you get the suspension installed?
We have nothing but rave reviews about the Ultimate suspension and the after sales service.
I also think its abit rough for you to bag them out when it reads that they were wiling to replace the front end for you, every product on the market be it suspension or lighting, will come across a couple of little problems and aslong as the company stands by there product we can't ask for anything more than that.

Hi there, so from your post you did not go back and get them to put new springs in ? I had ultimate suspension in my old hilux and I know of 3 others that have had it in their cars and it has never staged and performed well.

I know they use lovells springs which are usually good. It may have been a set of springs not tempered properly.

          Scutto,

I agree with you, I'm not sure how you're supposed to share a bad experience without someone thinking you're "bagging" a supplier and shaing info and experiences related to a particular topic is exactly what these Forum's are for.

Some people share bad experiences, some share good, from the available info those researching get to make a more informed decision, then they comment and so it goes.

It's a powerful process and we should not discourage honest comments good or bad as that will reduce the benefit of the Forum.

I am sorry I was not intending to offend.

The was it was put that ultimate suspension could not fix or honor their warranty.

As I said some times springs and not treated properly, this causes the sagging. All the kits buy springs in, no one makes them. If ultimate suspension did not offer to fix the issue then I would be concerned. But you decided to go else where and not try the new springs offered.

So all I can say is you had a set of springs sag.

                      Hi Scutto,

My name is Lachlan and I'm from the Australian Ultimate Suspension. I have been made aware that you have experienced a problem with our product by this thread and would like to offer whatever assistance I can to help you out.

It is quite abnormal for coils to "sag" from a 50mm lift back to standard, especially within only 4 months of being fitted. We do offer a lifetime warranty against sagging or breaking on all of our coils, leaf springs and torsion bars. We do ask that all vehicles come back for a free 1000km check-up to ensure that all the suspension components are settling in correctly, and that any issues (such as your front strut bushes) can be sorted out quickly to keep your vehicle on the road and driving the tracks you want it to. We also use the heights taken at this 1000km check as our reference for whether a vehicle has "sagged" after having the suspension fitted. From our records, it would appear that we have not had the opportunity to offer our services to you.

All of our coil springs for the 150 Prado are made through Australia's Best coil manufacturers (Lovells and Kings) and are made to our exacting specifications. If there is a problem with a coil, we will happily replace it and have it tested to find out exactly why the spring failed. If you were unhappy with the vehicles height and felt it had sagged, we are more than happy to check the heights and replace any springs as necessary, free of charge.

In regards to the front bottom strut bush wearing out, it is unusual for it to wear so quickly. The points you made about tightening up whilst in full droop are commonly known and are not practised by any professional suspension centre. We offer a money back guarantee on any faulty products, and even though you did not give us the chance to check or rectify either of these issues at the mandatory 1000km check or when replacing our products, we do stand by our product and are prepared to honour our company policy and warranty.

                      Kind Regards,
                      Lachlan Frazer

                              Hey Scutto,
Why don't you sell it to me cheap seeings how it's only going to rust in your shed and then I'll make the effort to get it replaced.
                              We could both be winners.
