Below your bottom strut plate you should have some silver rings, these r your spacers.

So the spacer just goes in there? Ie no additional spacer needed for the coil? This sounds like a good option to even the front with the rear.

The spacer in the leg is why I like the TJM suspension on the 150. You can get the spring rate you want (ride quality and control) and then simply adjust ride height with the spacers. A little trial and error but pretty close.

As per above - I have the TJM Gold Suspension as well and I opted for the comfort ride coils. Originally when installed TJM did not fit the second spacer and with the bar, the front was sitting around 775 - 780mm. After advice on here I went back and had them put in the additional spacer - now it sits around 790 - 795mm. They say if I swap out the comfort coils and put in HD coils, it should come up to 805 - 810mm but I am happy with the current ride, perhaps when I put the winch on I might need to.

I also just fitted a set of Firestone coilrite airbags in the rear, as I have found with the comfort coils, the back drops about 15mm when I load up with all the camping gear. Normally unloaded it would sit at 830mm, now with 10psi in the bags it sits at 850mm and it seems to have "stabilized" the rear without harshening the ride. I am really happy with how it has come up.

Alberto, their were a batch of bottom rubbers that failed because of a change in supplier, I had a set which were replaced no questions asked. Talk to your local TJM boys.

Just replaced the Lovell coils with Dobinson H/D Front and Rear Coils on the Prado.


Front: before - 795mm // After - 830mm (+35mm)
Rear before - 820mm // After - 860mm (+40mm)
These heights are with the 3rd row seats removed (building storage system ATM + with a FULL Fuel Tanks)
(Don't know the Droop at this point in time)

Just back from our Outback Trip where the Prado got a good workout with the corrugations and rough roads fully loaded..... Checked the heights again today after 3wks of suspension pounding roads....

Front: down from 830 to 810mm
Rear: down from 860 to 850mm


Might go get a wheel alignment check to see it is now.....

Yeah, went well.... I gave the car a good workout..... left tyre pressures up for the Donahue Hwy and half of the Plenty Hwy b4 letting them down. I wanted to give it a good test to see whether or not the cracks would re-appear and all is good with no signs of any cracks. The roads we went on were pretty harsh, rocky; corrugated roads and the car performed beautifully. The suspension handled it great as well. There was a couple of times where I just didn't quite see the dips in the road soon enough & hit them at a speed more than I would have liked instead of slowing right down and the suspension handled it with ease. Last year the car would have bottomed out but this time no worries..... Very happy.
Still have the Lovell Shocks/Struts fitted but not sure how long they will last. They did seem to fade a bit but I guess that's to be expected with constant rough, corrugated dirt roads.... I might have to pull them off to check them out b4 our next years trip.....

Before (140,000kms standard suspension):

Front Left: 735mm
Front Right: 745mm
Rear Left: 780mm
Rear Right: 775mm

After:

Front Left: 780mm (45mm)
Front Right: 780mm (35mm)
Rear Left: 823mm (43mm)
Rear Right: 823mm (48mm)

Not quite the 2" lift I was after but the ride is FANTASTIC.
Thought the front springs were going to be too heavy (924 lb/in) but aren't at all.

I got my tjm gold installed the other week.

The rear went from 790 to 840.
And the front with bullbar, dual batteries and spotties went from 770 to 780.
I've got to say I'm actually pretty disapointed, Nice lift in the back and only 10 in the front. They said the droop on the front is 75 and thats good and 780 is as high as its going to go. They wouldn't not put any more spacers in.
According to their measurements its a 45mm lift because they measured the height after they put the bullbar on... But in real life terms its only a 10mm lift from standard height.

Guess I'll need to ride around with some bricks in the back until I can get some weight in there. I feel like I'm sloping downwards

they said they were working with the tjm guys from brisbane...over the phone I assume, or maybe they came to perth? ..anyway they said they weren't happy to put a second spacer in after consulting with the guys from brisbane and since the droop is 75. He said 75 is about where it should be.
If they put in another spacer do I loose droop?
I didn't really fight them on it because I'm not a suspension expert.
Should I call them up and insist on the second spacer to bring it to 790-795?

There really is only one tjm in perth. Wonder if I should contact a tjm in a different state to advise me. Can anyone recommend one?

Would be interested to hear what the measurements are after 12mths or so and with some touring type trips where u have been fully loaded and have driven on some corrugations, etc.....
