  • OME Kit

    Got a OME sport kit put into our 150 today. WOW! What a massive difference. I am not driving a boat anymore.

    Good to hear. Mines booked in for next month (6 week wait for installs at Kilsyth, Vic)

      What springs did you have fitted? I'm still deciding between OME and bilstein/king combo from wholesale suspension.

        I took the 150 for its maiden voyage on dirt on Thursday.

        I can completely concur with the "boat" comment.

        I headed straight to Wholesale Suspension and bought 4 x Kings springs with 2" lift and 4 x Bilsteins.
        Unfortunately I have hurt my ankle and back so I can't fit them now.
        This however made my decision to pop up to my local mechanic and have them fitted this monday.

        I will let you know what its like after Monday......

          Hey SandRunner, have you noticed any noise coming from your OME suspension? Ive got a feeling 2 of my shockers are faulty, as they make a groaning noise whenever they compress.
          Also, did you have stone guards fitted? I had them fitted after the told me there was no warranty on the shocks if I didn't. Curious if you got told the same?

              Hi, I have not noticed any noise at all as yet. If you have a groaning noise I would think something is a bit wrong there. Yes, I got the stone guards fitted also but was not told that the warranty would be void if they were not fitted.

                Prado rear shockers are extremely vulnerable to stone and rock damage, so I would highly recommend stone guards when using monotube shocks. Even my twin tube Konis on my 120 have guards

                      What I meant was what rate spring did you have fitted ie heavy duty or medium duty?

                          Has anyone opted for the 30mm OME kit? I want to get rid of the wallowing and diving from the stock pogo sticks, but am not too keen on forfeiting undercover carparks and seeing my fuel bill head north. All will agree that their fuel economy goes up with a lift?

                          I don't do serious rock crawling or anything like that, just beach driving and the occasional dirt track. So I thought that maybe 30mm is the perfect match. Anyone else have this lift, and what are others ideas on a 30mm lift? Am I wasting my time and money?

                              I dont think that the 30mm lift is that common... I have the 2" lift and the tallest part of the car is 194cm. looks close when entering car parks but misses everything.
