Not satisfied with my Prado's ride after 20,000kms

    That is interesting as don't coopers only warrant the tyres in capital cities? I use to run 37-40 depending on where i was driving and the car felt fine, unlike now.

    I've probably ran mine @ 35 psi for only a week or two now (1500-2000kms) will do it for a bit longer and see how they're wearing.

      Usually in dirt, you would drop down to about 30psi and slow down for a more comfortable ride. The offroad conditions you describe doesn't sound like you should be running 37-40psi. Perhaps that might be why your suspension has now given up ??? (just guessing here)

      If on your daily trip you go offroad as well as get on the bitumen, then it sounds like you might have to air up and down everyday, particulalry seeing as it sounds like you do significant kms on each road surface.When you took it back to Ultimate Suspension, did they change anything out at all, or repair the adjustable shocks?

        Interesting thoughts AMTS...
        Would be way too much an inconvenience to Air up and down a few times a day.

        What do people do the love in similar situations? If all the roads were dirt life would be easier I might be moving into town sponsors that will change things.

        It's going back to ultimate next week. I'm a bit concerned about what's going to happen after a phone conversation with a staff member which I'd rather not elaborate on the forum. 8 hr drive it better be worth it.

            Just finished the same trip (in a GXL ) as the original post, but I live in Sydney.
            I'm now thinking of (finally) adding drawers etc and then a suspension upgrade.
            I'm guessing you'd recommend getting the unit fully outfitted and then the suspension, or the other way around?

            You've had the pleasure of lifting my Subaru Outback using blocks from Subtle Solutions (USA) and better springs.

              cooper tyre pressure

              Cooper recomend 32-34 for on road stuff which I have found to be pretty darn accurate and I have gotten the guaranteed KMs out of them. I am not one of these who need to see 100000 out of a tyre., just the recommeneded Kms are fine. I did however rotate and maintain my tyres as per specs.
