WOW, Yep, $1300 is a bargain, cheaper than i supply & fit Dobinsons.
So anyone getting quotes for $1300, definitely can't beat that for value for $$$$.
Get in their & get one of the best, at what's now one of the cheapest Prado kit fitted, I've heard of.
Customers usually tell me they have been quoted closer to $2k & happy to save 6-700.
Maybe they have dropped their prices?

If that fails, sounds like Zordo is the go!

Brougham, Mate, you care to share where you received that price for the 2 inch lift from?
I noticed you are in Baldivis WA - so right next door to me.

but for a price like that, hell i would travel half the state. best quotes i have got are there same as the rest of the fellas.

If you're looking to keep the ride comfy but don't want to wallow about when you're loaded up for camping, think about getting coil assist air bags. They give you the best of both worlds - you can get nice soft springs that will be comfortable on your daily drives, then ~30psi in them and you can throw a ton of gear in the back without it sagging. The only slight down-side is that they will slightly reduce the flex on the rear axle, so if you're a really hardcore rock crawler they're not the best option. But for touring and moderate offroading, they're great.

There's two main companies that make them, Firestone and Polyair. Because the Prado has coilovers in the front you can only put airbags in the back, but when you load up you're not really affecting the front as much, so it doesn't really matter.

Hi for Project tourer (my ex work vehicle)

I ultimately went Pedders Trakryder based on some "supposably" informed mates who said cant go wrong with them, all pedders do is suspension and steering, national network and lastly walking distance from home

Prices I see mentioned above are cheaper than I paid so wondering if I got ripped off or is Pedders worth extra money for quality and will let others decide

            My Bill
Pedders Trakryder Foam Cell Spring Seat 2 sets $560
Pedders Trakryder Coil Spring 2 sets $196
            Steering Rack End $68
Power steering flush $85 (supposable my fluid was burnt)
Pedders Trakryder Foam Cell Shock 2 sets $400
Pedders Trakryder Coil Spring 2 sets $244
            Wheel Alignment multi adjust $120
            Fitting $340
safety check, report blah blah $0

            Total $2011

but report said shocks soft weeping (I knew this ) springs sagged ( I knew this) as work vehicle nearly 4year old and done 150K probably a 1/3 off road and 1/3 towing as you will see from my intro we build towers on top of hills so not easiest life

Numbers for those who know what it means and from report

            Prior
            Front right 760 mm
            Front left 753mm
            Right Rear 755mm
            Left Rear 760mm

            After
            Front right 784 mm
            Front left 787mm
            Right Rear 820mm
            Left Rear 820mm

Rear slightly higher as heavier springs and this is unloaded I am installing draws and steel rear bar for Jerry etc so this extra weight they tell me will bring it down likely 10mm or so as will my prevalence to tow but inch in front and inch and 1/2 or so unloaded in rear

            After fit

            Front Camber L +0.14
            Right Camber R +0.07
            Front Caster L +3.29
            Front Caster R +2.49
            Front Toe In L +0.5
            Front Toe in R +0.5.

Don't really know what these mean but supposable prior all over place

Any way after a day and couple 100K's

            no body roll
            no diving under brakes
            lot firmer but not bouncy

Cant advise any more and how mine stands up against other I just went to whom I thought reputable and I get 40K warranty and did it then and there being I went in and said ar*e end is trampoline and shocks are leaking. What I did like is ther safety check they showed me under car and apart from suspension basically said my LH steering rack end was critical and pointed out why and also highlighted when I bring in for 6 month (10K) adjustment/check it may pay for sway bar and bushes which are in fair condition to be replaced but apart from that all good.

All in all experience good, did I pay too much others can comment but very impressed with end result and the red bits in wheel well look pretty cool and might need to paint callipers to match

            for what its worth

The lift has so far, been the most exhaustive decision I've made with my build. The options (and opinions) are bloody endless. As is typical with most advice online, it's either very positive or very negative with very little middle ground. I'm pleased I made the choice I did in the end even though I spent a little more than I wanted to, the results have been well worth it.

Went with Icon stage 1 kit and UCAs. The adjustable preload on the front has been good so far. After a big trip up north and a few smaller trips locally, the front had settled a little and it was easily dialled back out. The rears haven't sagged at all, although I do have quite heavy springs in anticipation of long trips loaded up and towing. Measurements are 845 rear (unloaded), and 798FL/794FR at the moment. The rear sags down to about 830 when fully loaded for camping with fridge, recover gear, 80-100l water, and the usual other gear.

Some might say it's a little on the firm side when unloaded but I don't find it so. Given the shocks are can be fully rebuilt if required, and the performance so far, I'm sure I'll be happy for a while yet.

Cheers for all the info so far guys

Will have a better wade through it when I get a chance
I'll have to have a look into air springs
We actually use them at work (mining related equipment) so can probably get them cheap

What did your lift set you back Drift?

The suspension height of the rear when loaded looks good. What Springs are they and do you know the stiffness?

                      Hey,

I'd also be interested to know what free height and spring rate coils you are using to get 845mm ride height.

It was about $3400 including fitting and the UCAs.

The springs in the rear are icons as well. They are quite a heavy spring, from memory 400kg. I'll dig out the receipt and post the part number.

Hi there wondering if anyone has tried or got any feedback on the ironman foam cell pro shocks and ironman springs?
Tossing up between them and an arb 50mm lift.

                              Hey,

                              I'm thinking you might have dual rate progressive coils like this;

                              http://iconvehicledynamics.com/shop/...l-springs.html

Hopefully you can have a squiz underneath and confirm the different winding spacings.

Who did you buy the Icon kit through?...Autocraft?
