  • OME 30mm lift from arb

    Hi guys,

I am looking to upgrade my suspension to the prado. I am looking at OME and have been to ARB to get it ordered, however they have offered me 2 different lifts, 30mm or 50mm. I didn't know that there was such a thing. I thought that if you got a lift it would be just 50mm. On both of my previous vehicles there was no choice it was just a lift and was always about 50mm. Does any body know anything about this. They weren't very helpful in at ARB and basically said that it is up to me to decide but he couldn't really give me the pros and cons. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers
    Matt.

Sure, lots of springs to choose from. Increments of 7-10mm which is about double at the wheel.

Stick with 30 if your a tourer. Lower centre of gravity, more down travel.
If your a hardcore offroader get 50mm. Higher, less down travel.

Thanks ####, that's what I was thinking, wish I lived in Melbourne so I could bring my prado to you. Seems like you are the guru with Prado's. Cheers. Matt

Hi ####, are there any issues with the CVs after lifting the 50mm? I mean, will they wear quicker with a lift of that amount?
          cheers

Just had OME 50mm lift on the 150. Only just completed 40K on original suspension. Ride is excellent not harsh at all I thought it might be hard etc but feels like OE, but better! Takes speed humps no problem and is just well planted. Very impressed you can tell they have researched their product. Glad I spent the money. Looked at Dobinsons and Lovells, but only $150 more for OME with their current special, well worth the money.
