  • 2 Inch lift

Im after a 2 inch lift.

    I have a prado 150 TD manual.

It has a bullbar, dual batt setup, soon to be a winch.

Ive always wanted Bilsteins on it. King springs seem to be the go.

Ive read so much that to be honest i just want to speak to an expert atm.

Who is the Prado suspension guru somewhere between Sydney and Canberra that i can talk to to get this sorted right the first time?

I spoke to Cal Offroad today but then ive read the threads on here and im a little wary...

Zordo is up north, I'm south, but not an expert on suspension, just a wanna be, lol.....Between Canberra & syd, id suggest looking your best Arb dealer & get o.m.e, at least your getting good gear. Although I'd prefer to see Dobinson coils in there, I'm not a fan of billies, but some others still seem to like them.

        open offer

if you want to come out for a drive one day.(Sunday a better day)

I just put Dobinsons MRR on.
would give you a chance to see and maybe feel how it performs
Some consider Martin at Dobinsons Sydney as a guru. I have no connection with this company they just sell good gear

if anyone else interested in a day out maybe NSW next day out Meryla SF

Craig hall mechanical and suspension in Phillip is where I gladly take my car to here in Canberra for any work.

If north is your preference total traction in belconnen is also fantastic.

I have dobinsons, purchased from zordo with the same spec as you probably require, poorly installed by a shop and then fixed by CHM&S. If you'd like to have a test drive I'm more than happy to give you a go. I can't recommend them enough, but I might not know what I'm missing!

At some point you need to just pick a brand, I couldn't be happier with my choice.

                  Thanks for that!

Did you just fit a 2 inch lift or did you fit extras like UCA's, diff drop kit etc...?

UCA's / diff drops are not a requirement afaik unless you're going >2" or want big tyres. I don't think the people I listed would have any problems with either though.

UCAs and diff drops are required if you opt for long travel struts even though the suspension height is only 2". It is to stop the UCA from hitting the coil (thus damaging the rubber boot on the ball joint) and the CVs binding at full droop. Also, a straight CV should theoretically last longer than one at an angle at rest height.
