  • CalOffroad Bilstein Silver Long Travel Monotube 0" to 3" Lift Front Strut - for Kakadu

    Hi All,

Just wanted to know if anyone has had any experience / feedback installing CalOffroad Bilstein Silver Long Travel Monotube 0" to 3" Lift Front Strut in their Kakadu Lift?

    Thanks

At 3" you will start having CV issues in the front. You will also not be able to lift the rear of the Kakadu (Airbag rear) more than 40mm without discarding reliability (EG constant air bags dislodging or popping) 40mm is the tried and tested safe height zone.

Have a look at the suspension database, or speak to John at Zordos, he is a suspension Guru for the prado. You can do a lot better than Caloffroad stuff.

        Hi all,

Finally got around to installing John’s Kit. Photo attached. Everything seems fine. Ride is a bit firmer but good. Low beams feel a bit short but will see how they go. Photo below.

You will need to adjust the rear headlight sensor on the rear axle. Or add the TJM headlight lengthening link.

                    Hi All,

not sure if this would be useful for anyone, however took my Kakadu to TJM to get the headlight lengthening kit, however after they started working on it, they said it is not compatible for the Kakadu due to the rear air bag heights being impacted one they include the lengthening - are there any other ways to adjust the headlights?

                      TJM are absolutely useless.

I've installed multiple of these on lifted kakadu's.. What do they think their "Extended Link" is for standard vehicles?

The frustrating thing was that after they called and said they couldn’t do it on the Kakadu’s because it would impact rear height, they wanted to still charge me the labour of $130 - even though I told them on the phone what model car I had. I refused to pay it. Would be great if anyone knew I’d a Kakadu expert in Perth to go and see.
