On a recent service for my 2014 facelift Prado 150 it was noted the ball joints were leaking and a price quoted for replacing them. The vehicle has done ~125000km. The quote was for replacement of all front upper and lower control arms but with aftermarket parts not OEM.

My questions are…
- Do they replace the arms rather than the ball joints because just doing the latter is a pain in the arse?
- As above but replacing the arms has the advantage of having replacement bushes also?
- Are aftermarket parts quoted by a dealer because the OEM ones are too pricey? They made what I would consider an outrageous price claim.
- What is a reasonable cost for this work? I’m assuming wheel alignment is included in the quote.
