  • BF Goodrich Vs Bridgestone

    Hi Guys..

Any body knows about the comparison between Bridgestone Dueler H-L and the BFG T/A KO 275/65R17 .. I am sure the Bridgestone is not noisy which is i like it. any idea ?

Haven't used the Briddgestone, but the BFG are very quite for what they are.

      Hello Alnassar,

You seem to be comparing apples and oranges, your bridgestone H L is a highway tyre and the BFG is not. If you compare the Bridgestone Dueller LT 694 with the BFG you would be comparing apples with apples.

The lt694 is very quiet and out performed the bfg in 4x4 action magazines a/t comparison. I have had both and prefer the lt694 although there is nothing wrong with the bfg either.

      regards

      Ross

BFG A/T, Mickey Tompson STZ, Cooper LTZ or Dueller 694. You cant really go wrong with any of those tyres, very similar in performance on and off road.

Alnassar, not sure what Prado you've got but the BFG is very quite on our 150, even on the really coarse roads up north. I assume the Bridgestone is the same, but can't comment.

Hey i just did 2500k's on Yokohama Geolanders and very happy with them. These don't get talked about much but they are definately a 'quiet achiever'

Stick with your Grandtreks then, they are a good tire you just need to run the right pressure. Plenty of people have done long trips on the GT's and when rotated properly some very good mileage as well.
Yep.....I have a Prado just like you

Depends on what you want from your tyres - my criteria is mileage, wet and dry grip, low noise, resistance to chipping on gravel/rocks etc. You will find personal opinions and recommendations in many discussions on this topic in this and other outdoor, camping, and 4x4 forums. I run D694LTs because they perform well to my criteria. But I am sure the others mentioned in this thread perform OK as well.

I have had 694's in a 65 profile and now BFG's in 70 profile. The Bridgies had a noise like a diff whine between 60 and 70kmh, but definitely ride smoother because they seem more supple/flexy. The BFG's are quieter, harsher, and harder to balance. However, the sidewalls don't bag anywhere near as much at the same pressure and give me much more confidence on dodgy roads. Traction on bitumen seems the same, but BFG a bit better off road I think. It's the perceived durability of the BFG that I like. Also have greater tread depth. Used them for many years on lots of dodgy road surfaces with no problems.

I've had BFG A/T on 3 prado 120's and never had a problem with them. They do get a little bit noisy if under pressure on the highway but if at the right pressure there is no problem. Very good tyres if you are going on rocky/puncture prone roads.

My UK LC4 (VX in Aus) is fitted with OEM Bridgestone 840 HT Duellers ..... coped well last year on ice and snow - no idea how they would cope on Australian terrain though....
