I propose to update the factory wheels on my GX to Speedy Chariot 17*7.5 fitted with Cooper AT3 265/65/70. I also plan to fit the same wheels to my camper trailer so that I have interchangeable spares. I could buy 8 AT3's (rather expensive) or I could by 4 AT3's for the car and reuse 4 of my factory tyres for the 2 spares and the camper trailer wheels. This would mean that I only have 245mm wide tyres for the spares and trailer, but I am OK with that. Later on, when the AT3 of the cars are 50% worn, I could by a new set and fit the worn ones to the camper/spares.
I plan to try and sell my factory 17*6.5" GX mags. My question is, do members think I would find it easier to sell a (1 to 5) GX wheels with tyres, or a GX wheels without tyres easier to sell. The tyres have done less than 2000km. Also should I sell them singly or as a set? I am in Adelaide and shipping would be a lots less for a rim in a box, rather than a rim plus a tyre in a box.
I have yet to find out if my factory tyres have any trade in value, I forgot to ask this when I was checking out wheel prices today.
