Should I sell GX factory wheels with or without tyres?

I propose to update the factory wheels on my GX to Speedy Chariot 17*7.5 fitted with Cooper AT3 265/65/70. I also plan to fit the same wheels to my camper trailer so that I have interchangeable spares. I could buy 8 AT3's (rather expensive) or I could by 4 AT3's for the car and reuse 4 of my factory tyres for the 2 spares and the camper trailer wheels. This would mean that I only have 245mm wide tyres for the spares and trailer, but I am OK with that. Later on, when the AT3 of the cars are 50% worn, I could by a new set and fit the worn ones to the camper/spares.

I plan to try and sell my factory 17*6.5" GX mags. My question is, do members think I would find it easier to sell a (1 to 5) GX wheels with tyres, or a GX wheels without tyres easier to sell. The tyres have done less than 2000km. Also should I sell them singly or as a set? I am in Adelaide and shipping would be a lots less for a rim in a box, rather than a rim plus a tyre in a box.

I have yet to find out if my factory tyres have any trade in value, I forgot to ask this when I was checking out wheel prices today.

I would be interested in 1 or 2 of the rims only, second spares. I have 5 of the OEM tyres at home, fitted BFGs to the vehicle.

Sorry for bringing up an old post, but I thought someone might be interested in the outcome. Thanks to Yota's photos in his biuld up thread we decided to go with speedy flames. See our build up thread for a picture of the car and camper trailer with the flames fitted. None of the tire places wanted to trade in our used (3000km) tyres. There isn't much demand for 245*17 Grandtreks and although they had only done 3000 km this meant they were a long way from new.

If you plan to swap tyres, it might be good to do this before delivery as your chance of trading in the old tyres will be much better.

We have decided to try and sell the five wheels & tyres on ebay. If that doesn't work we will consider separating them and listing them here (when I qualify).

I sold my set of GX OEM 6.5" rims/tyres on eBay. They only were used to drive the vehicle on and off the boat from Japan so were "as new". I found that there was quite a bit of interest in the end, so there is a market out there. I think people in general want the factory rims to put on their trailer to match the car or, alternatively, put them on a HiLux ute or similar. Offer to take the tyres off the rims for interstate deliveries. It does keep the cost down. Cheers

I listed them on ebay for $1200 with a "buy it now" of $1400. They sold in one day for the "buy it now" price. I would agree there does seem to be a market. They will be going interstate, I have just offered to remove the tyres to reduce freight (I kept my speedy boxes to pack rims in)
