Spare wheel mount..

Hi I did a search & was unable to find any info..
Has anyone ran into the problem where there new rims don't fit over the spare Tyre mount ?..
The diameter of My new Speedy Chariots is about 7mm smaller than the mount the spare fits over !!!
Has anyone else encountered this problem & how have they overcome it ??..
Cutting the sides of the existing mount would seriously compromise the strength of the mount..

I'm just wondering how the wheels even fit on the vehicle if you can't get the spare on the mount.

You'd be lucky to find 3mm clearance between the calipers and wheels?

They fit on the Vehicle no problems..
The problem is the hole that the center cap fits onto is to small to fit over the mount on the back door..

So these are aftermarket wheels?

If they won't fit on the spare mount, then surely the supplier has an answer...

Yes they are aftermarket wheels (Speedy Chariots) as stated above..

Is it a supplier issue ??..
They fit the vehicle they don't fit on the spare mount..

My CSA's didn't fit either so I ground away the welds on that centre section and removed it.

Finally someone who can relate to what I'am talking about..
So the weight of your rim and tyre is hanging on the three studs only..
I was a little reluctant in doing this...

Well, you can excuse the supplier if you like, but assuming you ordered these wheels to fit your car, it's not unreasonable for them to fit the spare. If they cannot, then it's perfectly reasonable to expect them to have a solution.

If, when you ordered the wheels they told you the spare would not fit, but you still went ahead and ordered them, then sure, it's not a supplier issue.

I wont even contemplate trying to explain what the tyres store Solution was for the spare wheel not fitting the mount..
Lets just say they where lucky I walked into the workshop when I did..
I'am convinced they scrape the bottom of the barrel at Centerlink to find tyre fitters..

Holds fine mate...its not really the installers issue mate they don't want to go cutting up your wheel carrier.

The installer was about to cut the mount smaller while it was still attached to the vehicle with a 9 inch Angle grinder..
