Cost of 2012 GXL 17 inch replacement rim EEEEEEKKKK!
I recently picked up my new Silver GXL D4D auto on 28/12/12. When I went to the dealership they informed me that the vehicle transport company had damaged a rim pre-delivery and they had placed that rim on the rear spare carrier under the cover. They informed me they had ordered a new rim which arrived this week and they arranged to have the tyre changed over. They gave me the new rim still in the box and said that I could keep the damaged rim too. I checked the damaged rim and it is the smallest mark so decided to keep it on the spare under the cover. Out of curiosity I rang another Toyota dealer and asked what the replacement cost for a single GXL 17 inch rim was and nearly fell over..................$1050 for one rim!!!!!!!!!
They must be kidding themselves at that price. Anyway I tossed up with the idea of selling it cheap but as the father in-law and I have both just bought new GXL's and our wives both drive them, I thought it will only be a matter of time until at least one rim gets scraped lol, so I may as well keep it as a spare.
Great to be back on the forum after a 3.5 year hiatus from my last Prado.
