  • Budget A/T Tyres Gripmax Any good?

I have taken a few hits lately with the finances and to top it all off, the Prado is due for a new set of tyres shortly so my budget is tight .
After much looking around on the web I have found an online seller called ozzytyres.com.au that are offering 245/70/17 LT tires delivered to a WA fitter for under $200 per corner, fitting ballancing and disposal $15-$25 extra, so my question to all is ...

Has anyone here dealt with them and are there any horror stories surrounding the Gripmax brand?

i guess I am looking for brickbats and boquets on the subject.

    Thanks in advance

    Peter.

You could proberbly get a set of Geolanders for not much more to be honest.
I'd be getting a tyre that could be easily replaced if you tear one apart somehow.

Dan makes a fair point. Given that the Prado is a constant 4x4 system, the last thing I would want to do is have to a completly different tyre on when out the back of Burke. Then by a matching one when I got home.... All your savings just went up in smoke.

If your budget is tight check the Maxxis Brand at BJT about the same dollars and probably lot better.

          Thanks for the responses guys.
The general consensus seems to be :- stay with a proven brand of tyre and spend as much as you can afford on your purchase.
Cheap is not always good value. I will continue to look for the best value I can find and checkout the above suggestions.

          Thanks

Hankook rf10's great tyre. Google em - should be about 220 a Corner and are excellent. Best bang for your buck by a long way.
