I am pretty now to all of this. I have been living in Nicaragua for almost ten years and finally managed to buy a really nice truck for me and the family. I am no newby to 4wheeling as we live hrs from the next reasonably city and road. I now own a stock 2010 5door prado with a 3lt. turbo diesel and found someone in Managua (Nicaragua...) who works with ARB so ordered OME 50mm, snorkel for rainy season and dust and ARB steel bar fitted for protection of all the animals (and drunks...)....
I know this has been asked. But after LOTS of searching I could not get an answer, neither out of my installer or ARB or the forums. Which would be the IDEAL tire size with the 50mm OME lift. There are stock 265/65R17's on there now and they are city tires kind of (Duelers...) and I need something a little higher for clearance but nothing too crazy. Of course I do not want anyhting to rub and I DO NOT want to buy new rims, either... I know that really large tires like 285's CAN fit but I am looking for more of an IDEAL size that won/t rub in any conditions... I would also have it go well on bitumen AND dirt etc. as I drive between home (dirt, mud, dust, off-road, rivers... the works) and cities and highways that are a couple of hours away...
I hear about offset etc. but is it possible to fit a nice size tire on my 50mm WITHOUT changing the rim? What do you guys think would be ideal?
Really appreciate your help, there is no help on this here in Nicaragua...
Peace, Phili
