TPMS for Smart Phones

Hi,
Am interested if anyone has any experiences with the tyre monitoring systems that can be monitored by your smart phones.
Am trying to not have another item on the dash of screen that I need to monitor, whereas I have my phone sitting there already.
Can only see systems that monitor 4 tyres, but my needs are for 6 to take in the trailer.
Any advise or experience with these devices would be appreciated.

Is it really water and dust proof?
Can you use the app in the car - manual says maybe not.
Would Bluetooth 4 work with distance to trailer and through the metal of the car?

Yes that type and I believe Steelmate also does one for android.
Am curious is anyone has tried them, as randll has mentioned, issues that may be faced are the environmentals and the distance could be a factor.
