Prado 150 GXL would like to use 16" rims for remote trips. Suitable rims, offset, steel or alloy suggestions. Would like to use my 285/75/16s off my HZJ105 if will fit or 235/85/16 to get more ground clearance as well. Have searched with out luck.

On the 120, the 16" rims won't fit over the front brake calipers. It requires grinding a bit off. I suspect that the same is needed on the 150.
1 way around this is to fit lesser offset rims. The 150 rims are +25 offset. Also the shape of the rim will determine what the minimum offset is required.
Just note that grinding the brake calipers and increasing wheel track by more than 26mm (which equals reducing offset by 13mm at each rim) is illegal.

Nm have a search, tyre sizes are covered extensively here in this section. 16 aren't necessary when you can fit 33s to 17" rims with legal offsets. Whether the 33s are legal or not will depend on your local transport department rules. My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic
