Wheel alignment

Question(s);
Toyota service plug a wheel alignment each time they service, I've ignored - guessing you should only get one if new tyres or offroading 'moves' stuff?

Do people include the spare in the each service interval rotation?

My Toyota dealer doesn't do wheel alignments. I get one done every year as preventative maintenance. (or whenever something changes)

If I had 5 matching tyres, I would include the spare. You'll wear the other tyres just that little bit less and keep the spare in working condition.

If you don't rotate your spare then you are effectively wasting the cost of a tyre. It sits on the back and deteriorates over time and potentially needs to be replaced with out use. I have two spares, so Im doing a six tyre rotation.

Having a alinement and balance regularly will improve the life of your tyres. Every service would be overkill.
I do a five tyre rotate so all my tyres are the same tread depth. What is the point of having a near bald spare if you need it on a long holiday out bush some ware.
The cost of the having wheel alignment and balance will be close to $100. You possibly can find deals for lifetime balance alignments. You may never save the amount of money you spend but it makes for better driving.
We always use the five tyre rotate and buy five new tyres. Doing this I get 115000 out of BFG all terrains.

How often do you guys rotate, every 5,000 or 10,000 or what?

We try for the 10000km but sometimes miss. also depends on how much feathering there is. Lots of city road work causes the fronts to heal and toe, whilst long road is a bit different.
