I recently bought a 2015 GX and under the spare wheel cover was a Bridgestone Dueler 280/65/17Last edited by xxbazzxx; 07-02-2021, 12:30 PM.

G'day everyone, sorry to revise an old thread and hope everyone is safe from all these floods we are experiencing lately! I have just purchased a 2012 Altitude after my 100 series Sahara was written off 2 weeks ago whilst only doing 35 klm/hr and I was wondering if anyone knows if the Falken Wildpeak AT3 in 265/70R17 will fit under the spare wheel by any chance please? Many thanks all, Ben

Never mind as I found the answer to my (or my wife's) dismay. They do not fit under the cover apparently.

hi Ben, just a question, why do you care if they fit under the wheel cover ?
take the wheel cover off, then you can have whatever size tyre you like (this is what I did).
f you ever get a flat, you will not get the wheel cover over the flat tyre (as the flat tyre will be distorted a bit), this is why you often see wheel covers lying on the side of the road out west (the back of the prado must have been full with gear, so no room for a dusty wheel cover to go on the inside).

Hi Simon, it's not a matter of caring but rather my wife prefers the look of the spare wheel cover rather than the wheel exposed. You know the saying "happy wife, happy life" Anyway we have gone with the 265/70R17 and left the wheel cover off which I think looks tougher...well for a Prado anyway lol
