Spare tyre for Kakadu

I am having the same problem...I have a GXL and head to the Simmo on 8th July, doing Flinders first, then up the Oodnadatta Track, across the Simmo (if it opens) and form there we had planned on coming down to Cameron Corner...however that's very water logged at present so may just be a quick trip back to Brizvegas from Birdsville.

I have had a second spare BFG A/T on back order for about 3 months...my local tyre dealer (Bob Jane) are now saying they maybe can't supply before I go.

So either I try and hire one (if anyone has one I'd be happy to pay you for it and then return at the end ...at a cost of course) or I go with a spare that doens't match my existing tyres.

Not sure what to do???

I'm doing a similar trip in about 9 weeks - what did you end up doing for a 2nd spare?

I have Yoko AT's which have done around 40k and are still in pretty good shape, however I'll probably put new rubber on (Yoko or Cooper at/3) and take one of the 'old' ones as the 2nd spare. I won't worry about a 2nd rim, I'll have a set of tyre irons if we need them.
