  • E Lockers

I was looking at fitting front and rear E lockers, has anyone fitted them to there 90's series? It seem's like a great system, but are they as good as air lockers?
I don't no much about E lockers apart from they are magnetic, a new diff system and quite. How much are they fitted in Australia? Are they reliable?

Bass13, I have one fitted to my 150. It is great. Less things to go wrong. If you break the wire just twist it together to get it going. No air line leaks and things like that. But it is horses for courses.

    SOL.

If I was building my car from scratch I'd certainly try them. Even if they were weaker than ARB's, I'm sure they'll still be strong enough to break front CV's !!

e-Lockers are a fantastic alternative to air lockers. They are strong and being electronically activated, have less to go wrong. Additionally there is no need for additional accessories like compressors to use them and they are dead quiet to use.

We just recently replaced our race cars lockers from air lockers to e-lockers and haven't had any issues.

*Note: Full disclosure Ironman 4x4 distribute e-Lockers.

Ironman what do you have to say about the lockers disengaging when rocking backwards and forwards at standstill due to the ramps effectively undoing the locking mechanism?

            Hey Mate,

I'll have to get back to you on that tomorrow when our product manger is back in. He'll be able to give you an answer on that.

Agreed. The ARB lockers seem to be unforgiving of less than perfect installation. By all accounts so far, E-lockers seem to be very reliable. If there is a big enough shift in market share towards E-lockers, it might prompt ARB move to electronic actuation.

                Hey mjrandom,

Just spoke to our product manager about this and his comment is that once locked there shouldn't be any unlocking unless the 12v got disengaged for whatever reason.

If you are facing some issues with it disengaging I'd highly suggest getting it checked out as that is by no means normal.

                    No problem mate,

If they were early models they are likely different from the ones we are selling.

And of course you can trust us with your pride and joy
