Roof two-way radio console

The problem with some vehicles is that sometimes they dont make what you really want. My answer is to just make it. I made this to fit in my 97 Vitara, so when it was time to transfer all the goodies to the Prado I couldnt decide where to fit the two-way. I removed the console and then on the off chance if it would fit the Prado. So I removed all the bits on the roof and did a fit up and I couln't beleive my luck, the suckers going to fit. I got the roof profile with a steel clothes hanger and marked it up against the console' peeled back the trim and cut the new profile. Added some extra padding to fill the gaps and then mounted all the Prado map and centre lights.









Almost factory and olny cost me less than $150 to make and get trimmed.

Zooks, that's an excellent system.

It's often a problem in any vehicle to add goodies like multiple radios.

Your method allows you to make up a custom console without having to take away from anything already in the vehicle.

Zook, would you care to give us a quick run down on how you made it?It looks terrific. The previous owner sort of just jammed stuff willy nilly in my Prado, could be a more cost effective solution to fix this.
