I came across this totally by accident and have had the vehicle for a while now. Just incase noone else new they had one and trying to stop the kids from spilling there drinks. The lid lifts up behind and moves towards the front which is great as it moves the arm rest forwards more (bit like the 120 series that slides) Steve

Thought I broke it ?? Yep
Hi there Trojan, certainly did. I had the sh@ts and threw some thing in the back of the car (no not the child) and it hit it sending it upwards. My wife said good on ya di#khead how muchs that going to cost. I thought oops then yes when I had a look at what I thought was broken turned out to be a cup holder. Mind you guess who lifts it over every time she drives now cause it is more comfortable. SteveFace lift 150 Prado V6 auto. No mods yet

Year Model
Myn is a 97 VX grande but originally only had the one lid with a dicky cup holder in the top of it but I found the arm rest was too low, so managed to get one from another prado as it had the two lids. It was from a GXL but not sure what year model. Nearly died when I rang toyota to find out the price of a new one. I got this one from a trade in at toyota where my mate use to work. Thay were wholesaling it any way so I swapped it with myn. But at the time did not know about the cup holder I was just looking for a higher arm rest for the centre. Bonus I found it. HA! I love it - i did the exact same thing ('01 GXL)
I had noticed that a screw had come loose and the top was lifting a little so one day while waiting to pick the wife up after work I am looking at it trying to work out how to 'Fix' it when the whole thing lifted and went forward... First i cursed cause I thought i had made things worse (my normal...) then I killed myself laughing that we had never found them!!
mind you any cup we try and use never fits the holders so they haven't really been of much use yet!

Haha I had the same thing happen to me. Funny thing is I haven't actually figured out exactly how to get back to them... takes me about 30seconds of pulling latches and lifting the lid throwing it back and forward. When i discovered mine they were pretty dirty - looks like the car detailers didn't find them either when the dealer sent it their way haha.

Re: Rear Cup holders on 95 series
Lol - Hi guys new to Prado Point but had the same experience. Actually seen it in the Car manual but had some much trouble trying to open it I figured it was an option and not in my model. Then, when recently giving the bus a good spring clean accidental lifted the back and noticed it moved up - a quick investigation and wow, I do have them..
I also hae the double lid centre console.Mike (Mikew09)
