  • Some photos of my new bar instal

    G'day guys,

Installed my ARB delux winch bar yesterday. Was a bit short on time before work so I couldn't do a detailed photo shoot of the build.

If anyone knows where that silver piece goes... I'd like to know. That's my old man holding onto it.

Going to have to seal these lights in somehow as the rubbers wouldn't go in and one broke.

One of the rubbers was torn and snapped...

They weren't going back on easily...

    Old bumper..

Had to chisel this guy to get him to turn...

That's what she looks like now. The Safari snorkel was also put on a few weeks ago.

And finally... make sure you hold on to your tools when tightening those nuts... this is what happens when you slip and they crack you in the face. And yes it did swell up and get worse haha.

Nice work Tristan, except for hea butting the tools. If you show us a close up of the silver part, I may be able to tell ya, I had my bar off the other day.

Its really starting to look good, you getting some driving lights for it??

Also did you have any trouble getting the bar. I heard a while back that ARB had stopped making this bar, but I wouldn't have thought it was true.

    Cheers,
    Joel

I had no trouble getting it. I ordered it through RCA on the coast. Got a deal with free colour coding which was nice... though that did take ages due to ARB's painters being off work or some rubbish..

      As for the part...

I have some old spotties somewhere that I'll try to dig up soon..

Looks great well... the bar, not your forehead
I did that the other day but the damage was restricted to my knuckles...

That's what i was told after my Fraser Island accident. I went to replace the ARB bar, but was told it no longer existed for models with Flares, but was available in narrower form for RV's and such. So it would fit, but would sit under the flares and not come right out to the edge. Hence why i opted for a TJM bar as a replacement. Looking at these pics though, it defiantly looks like the wider bar which would suit the larger flares of the GXL and such.
I got a colour coded delux bar suited to flairs a few months ago and had no trouble getting it!!

                  Hi Ninpo04,

It's a really minor point but I thought I'd better mention it anyway...

Your buffers are on upside down.

Other than that, good work fitting it up!!

                  Jam.

Re: Some photos of my new bar instal

                      Hi again,

Just looking at your indicators, thought you might like to know that the rubbers are supposed to be split, the split goes at the bottom between the body of the light and the lens (in the groove on the body). Sealing them up causes the backing to corrode when water gets in, the split allows it to drain and air (and dust!!) to get in.

                      Cheers

                      Jam.
