I don't know how to post links sorry, i'm computer illiterate.. lol. Go into ebay and do a search for spare wheel cover, or Prado wheel cover and you should find it. I think it was going for about $170.
Ok, I'm a couple months late but I just bought a secondhand hard cover for $50 which shows that if you are patient a bargain may come along. Otherwise, I noted that one auto shop had soft plain cover for $20. I am sticking to the original tyre size so a hard wheel cover is good for me but if you have or are going to use other wheel sizes then a hard cover may not fit.
Thanks for the reply Ken. I've still not got one, but i've pretty much decided on the Toyota hard cover. Just gotta keep lookin'. Sounds like you got a great deal there mate. I haven't found much myself yet...
A little bit of advice from personal experience is make sure you do not leave the spare tyre under the spare wheel cover for long periods as they bake and melt the glue from the tread . I was comming back from Kalbarri earlier this year travelling at about 90km / hr with about 1800kg of camper trailer behind me when ( what was )the spare tyre on my rear left hand side decided to seperate causing damge all along l/h side of the car , lucky nothing at all happened to the camper . After discussing the problem with tyre company they said it was quite common with 4wd with spare wheel on back baking in side the hard covers .. They replaced me a brand new Grand Treck - not game to use it though . Also when I picked the Prado up from panel beaters they said it was the 3rd one they had in last 6 months with the same problem .
I have a shiney stainless steel genuine cover for my 90 sitting in the shed gathering dust. I cracked the abs plastic centre piece a while ago and had been running the steel outer with a genuine PRADO inscribed vinyl cover. However, after putting larger tyres on the car the steel cover only just managed to clip tight but the centre cover was too small.
Another problem with the heavy metal cover or the one piece plastic covers like those on the later 90s or 120s is that if you have a blow out (more than just a flat) the cover won't fit over the damaged tyre.
