  • Extra reverse light tip

    Hi

Could you tell me what you think is the best reverse light? Some pics of your own would be nice...

saw somewhere a 180-degree reverse light. Can't seem to find it again though...

    Re: Extra reverse light tip

Do you mean a rear "Work" light? or one just for reversing?

Do a search, there are posts on rear work lights and rear reverse/spot lights.

      Re: Extra reverse light tip

It's mainly for reversing. Sorry, can't see the difference in working in the light or reversing in the light..?

I tried to search, only found how people mounted it, I'm interested in the brand and model...

If you want a "work light" then (light on a telescopic pole designed to give good area lighting) then Kaymar are the go.

If you just want a light for reversing then any old spot light that suits your needs will do. For examples look through this thread:

I'll build the fix and the mount myself, just interested in a good light.

            Re: Extra reverse light tip

I have two small foglights that Iīm thinking about putting under the toolbox on the back of the cargodoor. I also have some tractor lights that I might use, but they are bigger and more "vulgar" than the small fogs.

Tractor lights are great for this as they spread the light over a larger area, they tend to be cheap and they can be had it all sorts of figurations.

Fog lights will give you a flat beam that can light the area behind you and nothing more. If you are worried about blinding others while reversing then fogs are the way to go.

              Thanks!

Went and bought this tractor light. I don't now if you have biltema on Iceland, but if you do you might recognize them

                  I sure will!

Could anyone give me tip on how to connect the light thru the cargo door without doing any new holes?

I already put +-cable from the battery to the tools-compartment, and I think I'll try to pusch the cable thru the rubber-protection hose between the hinges on the cargo door, but then?

                    Re: Extra reverse light tip

I would be trying to follow the number plate light's wire once you're inside the back door... just a guess as I haven't done it myself :?
                    Cheers, Leon

I hope Iīm not to late with this.

There is probably a molex connector on the cargo door.

Here is a great write up on how to run speaker wire cleanly through a molex. Its the same process that is needed to run your 12V+ and ground wires to the lights.

We donīt have Biltema here. We have N1, they run the Esso stations and have stores with spareparts, tires, lights and accessories. They also run garages. Then there are of course the heavy equipment and trailer truck stores and garages that sell lights and pneumatic system parts at good prices.
