On my VX the the rear Air Con is governed by the temp setting of the front/main Air Con controls with the rear controls having the option to adjust the temp by +/- 4 degrees or just leave on auto.
So in effect yes is does "heat" as much as the front outlets although I'm in QLD so not a lot of heating required 8) .
I have climate control so I don't know if that changes the rear at all

They dont heat at all. There is only an evaporator on the drivers side rear (cargo area) behind the plastic panel which has piping going to it from the aircon compressor up front, the only other pipe is the drain tube, There is controls on the rear of the centre console as you would know, fan and temp setting. You will only get cold air in the rear if you have the front a/c button pushed on, just turning the rear fan on without the front aircon on will only recirculate the air temp of the cabin already. If you turn the heater controls on up front to the most hottest setting you WILLNOT get that coming out the rear over head vents in the rear, there is no heater core in the rear. So if your not getting any hot air out the rear vents dont worry its all ok. If you are not getting cold air out the rear when you have the front air on and the rear set at the lowest temp then you have an issue. My rear air and front air would freeze you, I had to stop using the rear air as I didnt realize how cold it was getting in the back and think that had some thing to do with our 2 year old getting colds during summer. The 120's are the same only difference the 120 has vents under the seats to push the some air out hot or cold, this was on the models without dual air not sure if they all had it including the one with dual air.Regards Steve
