  • Access Ladder for Roof Rack?

I'm planning to put an ARB aluminium rack on my 98 Prado shortly, and was wondering if there are any access ladders available? Ideally one that attaches to the rear door beside the spare. I've seen them over the years on other vehicles, but don't know a supplier.

    Any suggestions appreciated,

    Cam

Saw them at a rhino rack dealer the other day.

Yeah, saw those. Unfortunataly they have to be folded up. I need one that's semi-permanent and can be left in place whilst driving. I use my car to transport paragliders up/down hills alot, and we chuck our gear on the roof so need to get on/off the rack with minimal faffing around.

      Thanks anyway. Cheers,

      Cam

Have a local alloy welder build you one. would be relatively easy.

+1 for getting a custom one made.
Would probably end up about the same price (or not much more) as one of those rhino rack ones

I know mine is a 120 but had this custom made and fitted from new - have never regretted it.

Fits the spare wheel, bag of tents, chairs, foldup tables, tarps etc, as well as my space case as shown for all the spares, recovery gear and compressor.
Gives a great anchor place for the Freds arm and ARB awnings and I keep my shovel up there too.
Can send more detailed pix if you PM me.
            Cheers

I have the one you want I got it off ebay for $160 the only problem is you have to drill 2 holes through your rear door to fit it I'm still tossing up wether to fit it or not it looks smart in pictures I'd add them if I knew how to
